This movie is a delightful chick flick. The scenery is breath-taking. While the plot is a bit predictable, it was a feel good movie. I would have been disappointed if the predictable parts were not included! I left the theater with a smile. This is a movie I would enjoy watching over and over.

The story, the romance and the cast were all top notch. Best movie I have seen in a long long time. Christopher Egan is not difficult to look at, and Amanda Seyfried is one of my favorite actresses.Vanessa Redgrave is always a treat to see and adds glamor & grace to the movie. It was filmed in Italy so it is a added bonus to see all those good looking Italian men!....and the scenery is breathtaking.

With this being set in Italy, what's not to like? Very entertaining flick. Predictable? Yes, but worth the ticket! Saw this with my 10 yr old (she picked) and she thought it was good movie too. Nothing too graphic.

The movie was enjoyable, possily believable. The scenary, in and out of town, is luring us to Italy asap. While the story is a real "C-F" I enjoyed the whole movie, except for the extended vision of the explative once. Could have left that out and the movie would have been better.

This is the sweetest movie I have seen in a very long time. No swears, no nude scenes, just a beautiful story. Amanda and vanessa were superb, At one point in the story I cried , it was sooooo touching. Loved every minute of it. Not to mention the scenery. Breathtaking, want to leave for Italy tomorrow. Every one should see this movie, it is a great lesson in Love..... for all ages.

No frills here except perhaps the footage of Italy. Still, "Juliet" entertained me from beginning to end. I especially enjoyed the parallels between the two romance running side-by-side - and old love and a new one. Just a sweet, simple and refreshing romance that makes for a good date flick.

Watched the movie with little expectations. Have realized that this is the key in enjoying a movie whether it be good or bad. Movie was good enough to make me tear up for a bit of it. So I would definitely recommend this movie for the people out there that likes a good romance comedy. With everything that is said and done, I really have nothing great to say about the movie because it is a typical romance comedy movie. Once you have seen one, you've seen them all. Though this be true, I also have nothing bad to say about the movie. So, overall, it falls on the average.

I took my 82 year old Mom and she thoroughly enjoyed it and laughed many times. Even though it is predictable, the scenery alone was worth the cost of the ticket.

If this movie had been set anyplace else, it would have gone straight to DVD. Very predictable, almost boring. The scenery was magnificent and stole the show. I couldn't wait to see where they would look for Lorenzo next, just to see the landscape. Vanessa Redgrave was very good, as expected. The rest of the cast was just plain eclipsed by Italy. Did it make me want to see it again, absolutely not, but it did make me want to board the first Al Italia flight to Italy.

This was a simple love story with beautiful scenery. It was predictable and didn't require any reading between the lines to understand. But knowing the story behind the story gave it more meaning. Vanessa Redgrave and her lost love in the movie actually starred in a movie together many years ago and had an affair. So in this movie they are coming together again to make a movie. So it is almost a true story. Maybe it will become more than a movie for them this time.

There's no avoiding chick flicks if your SO is a woman. As long as the chicks in the flick are, well, hot, the comedy is good and the plot isn't completely implausible and stupid, they can be enjoyable.
The comedy in this one is understated; chalk that up to the British characters. And there are more "touching" moments than are in the typical RoCom, but the story is good and well done. And the setting makes Verona look like a great vaca spot.
You're not going out with your buddies to see this, but when his SO is weeping gently at the end of the show, a skillful paramour should have no trouble bringing the romance home.
A well-done chick flick a guy can enjoy. And work to his own advantage . . .

It's hard to see this movie without seeing some similarities to "Momma Mia". Amanda Seyfried's character is again named "Sophie" and she sends a letter that brings people across countries to where she is.
"Letters to Juliet" is a story about finding true love. Claire, played wonderfully by Vanessa Redgrave, is trying to find her lost soulmate from 50 years ago, while Sophie is learning that her husband to be is more interested in wine and cheese than here.
The movie is basically clean and funny. It is somewhat predictable, everything comes together for a happy ending, but it is an enjoyable date movie.

Of course I liked it because even after several trips to Italy I never tire of it. The movie made me want to depart immediately for Tuscany. Yes, it was simple but sometimes in a complex world it is nice to see a nice uncomplicated live story with your family.

The one strength of this movie is the beautiful scenery of Italy. I rated it average because it is typical Hollywood product - the four and five star movies are few and far between.
Nearly everything that happens in this movie is entirely predictable. The dialogue is painfully poor - I actually felt sympathy for the actors at several points during this movie for having to follow the script.
In addition to these issues, I was bothered by the main character's "issue" with her fiance. For her to be disappointed that he didn't want to do most of their activities together on this trip was understandable. But the viewer gets the impression that she wanted him to focus ONLY on her during this trip - a very childish and egocentric view of "true love."
The friend I saw it with brought her 9 year old daughter and I saw no reason why the movie was rated PG. The 9 year old really liked it.
