There's no avoiding chick flicks if your SO is a woman. As long as the chicks in the flick are, well, hot, the comedy is good and the plot isn't completely implausible and stupid, they can be enjoyable.
The comedy in this one is understated; chalk that up to the British characters. And there are more "touching" moments than are in the typical RoCom, but the story is good and well done. And the setting makes Verona look like a great vaca spot.
You're not going out with your buddies to see this, but when his SO is weeping gently at the end of the show, a skillful paramour should have no trouble bringing the romance home.
A well-done chick flick a guy can enjoy. And work to his own advantage . . .
Yes, I recommend this movie.
