i took my wife and her 15 year old son to Kick-Ass and we all enjoyed it greatly. We all loved the character "Hit-Girl" and throughly enjoyed ourselves. While the violence was pervasive, it was not over-the-top, and it fit well with the storyline. I was reminded of some of the classics of this genre like "Kill Bill" and "From Dusk Till Dawn". This movie was every bit as enjoyable. This movie is not for young people under 14-15 due to the violence. But it is an enjoyable venture for teens and adults. It was an evening well spent.

Never read the comic, but enjoyed the show. Nicolas Cage was awesome... love story felt familiar, but alternately funny and gory, I was pleasantly surprised because I went in (at wife's request) thinking it was going to be terrible. Definately worth seeing once.

Yes Dark Knight was amazing, but it was great acting and story telling that made it great. This movie is exactly what it was supposed to be, an exact movie version of a comic book. A fast, enjoyable vison of the real-world consequences of being a suprhero, Kick-Ass is witty and charming, although as other revfiewers have mentioned, it can get somewhat violent at times and is not recommended for younger or sensitive moviegoes. The lead actor does a reasonably good job, but the real star of the show is Hitgirl, who, while crude, steals every scene she is in. Nicolas Cage turns in a fairly disappointing performance, his stilted speech more irrtating with every word, but even that does not diminish this movie's appeal. If you ever liked comic books or thought about being a superhero, check out Kick-Ass.

Wow... That's a wow, what was that I just watched. I guess we've come a long way from the caped crusaders from the Gotham of old, as we parlay into a whole new level of violence: foul-mouthed kids kicking, killing and blowing up adult ass. Somehow Hollywood makes this work, with lots of elements from what may be our our own high school past, a nasty villain, Nicolas Cage, who answers the question: "what kind of parent would do this to a kid?" and a host of other players you may find somewhat passe, but entertaining. Wasn't the plot I expected, but I guess that's a good thing? However, in the end I'm sure you'll agree that "Kick Ass" is a blast.

I saw Kick-Ass last night and can't stop thinking about it. The film just sticks with you -- this perfect combination of action and satire with just enough heart to keep you caring about the characters. It reminded me a little of 300 and Sin City, in that it's a style-over-substance movie. But great, believable performances put it over the top -- best Nic Cage in ages! Whatever, just go see it -- but please don't bring anyone under 13. There's intense violence, much of it played as comedy, and audience members need a little maturity to understand all the irony.

'Kick-Ass' is awesome. It's not what you would expect from what you see in the trailers. It's not your grandkid's movie. This is a high quality, 'R' rated movie. The background music is great, and there are references to many classic revenge style movies, which adds to the interest. It starts out a little slow while setting up the back story, but once 'Hit Girl' is on the scene, it really 'kicks' in to high gear. I highly recommend seeing this movie, but be aware that even though there are several chuckles, and a few laugh out loud moments, it is not a comedy. Most of the entertainment comes from absurdity and from stylized killing. Even with all the death and destruction though, it ends up being a guilty pleasure, feel-good movie.

This movie should have been called "Hit Girl", as it was painfully misrepresented in the ads as a feel good teenage coming of age for boys flick. As a result - Kick Ass won't be seen by as many moviegoers that it's targeted to that it should be. Here's hoping it becomes a cult classic, and we see some awards coming out if it this year!

Kick Ass was funny, fast paced after the first 30 mins., and perhaps the most gratuitously violent movie I have seen in years. Top the violence with the language (a bit too much at points) and I would be hard pressed to even allow my 15 year old see this film. It is not for kids, but was a good film.

The superhero Kick Ass is not believable and is dull as a comic superhero character who can save the world. Instead his character and the entire movie is saved by the actions of super heroine HIT GIRL and her father, Big Daddy. How an eleven year old can rescue and save a movie doomed for boredom is a sight for all to see. It is most entertaining, but WARNING it is loaded with violent action and four letter words. The supporting cast enables HIT GIRL to be the star.

I have to say that I was thinking this movie was going to be something totally different. I was expecting a movie like "Super Bad" or any movie similar to that. This was a darker movie that smells of a sequel. I did like this movie and called it the "Kill Bill" for kids...check it out!
