My wife coerced me into going to see a SILENT MOVIE! I cannot thank her enough. The adjectives to describe this cinema are inadequate. The acting is superb. The story line is historical. The directing and producing are amazing. The music is fantastic.
I now understand WHY this movie has been nominated and won so many awards. My pick to take the Academy Awards BEST!!
All a guy needs to know about females and their thinking. Hilarious roles played by Kriten Wiig and Maya Rudolph supported by a perfect cast. The twists and turns in the planning of the wedding give many reasons to laugh.
A female "Hangover" with the femine touch to male antics.
An excellent, suspenseful and well acted movie. Matthew Mconaughey turns in one of his best performances. Aided by Marisa Tomei and William Macy this movie satisfies on all points. The legal profession is well served while being portrayed as it is, especially in the field of criminal law.
I wanted this movie to be better than the professional critics reviews. I rate it only slightly above their scores. Were it not for Liam Neeson, the movie would rate a rental status. It is entertaining because of his skills, but slow to develop and a bit convoluted in plot.
If you want a good film with action and enough suspense to hold your attention this movie will provide you satisfaction. The role playing by Jason Statham and Ben Foster is excellent. I wish Donald Sutherland had a larger role. The movie, while predictable, keeps you on edge as you watch professional hit men at work. The ending does have its surprise.
A very inspirational story with EXCELLENT acting lead by Colin Firth supported by Geoffery Rush. Historically correct story of a man who became King George VI of England when his brother abdicated the throne The exhausting efforts, trials and tribulations that the Prince went through to be able to speak to modern era, radio receiving crowd's and fulfill his father's wishes was very compelling and inspirational. His Speech inspired a nation at the start of World War II.An excellent movie that should receive many Oscar's.
And the winner is Natalie Portman for Best Actress, Black Swan for best movie. WOW, this intense movie script is made even better by the interchange between the outstanding role playing of actors and actresses. Natalie plays the ultra competitive good princess versus Mila the conniving, crafty, sometimes evil princess. Natalie's mom adds to the insecurity level which is fueled by Vincent Cassel, rendering Natalie insane. This movie will turn you upside down and leave you drained BUT it is a great motion picture. Go see it, even if you think you do not like ballet.
Notwithstanding the Critics who gave the movie very bad reviews we went because of the moviegoer critiques. The movie was entertaining, but by no means an A for either Depp or Jolie, discounting her looks. The photography was very good which helped as you toured Paris and Venice.. This perhaps is a mark above waiting to rent.
Hailee Steinfeld is outstanding and holds her own with Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon. Jeff Bridges portrays Rooster Cogburn as one would think of a alcoholic Marshall in the old West. There are a couple of surprises which add to the overall enjoyment.
Certainly qualifies as one of the best thrillers this year. Acting, definitely some of the best. Ben Affleck winds his way into your mind as well as that of Rebecca Hall. There is intense violence and the language is the kind you would hear if you were on the streets in a ghetto.
