I was smart enough to go into the movie knowing it couldn't be better than The Dark Knight. The performance of Heath Ledger and the story itself was just too strong in that movie. Taking that approach really helped, because it allowed me to really appreciate how great the final installment was. It did start off a little slow for me after the airplane scene, but that didn't feel to last long and by the time Batman had his first battle against Bane, the movie went into hyper tension mode and never let up. I was REALLY surprised at the performance of Anne Hathaway who I thought was a bad choice when first announced. Bane was INCREDIBLE as well as the always strong Joseph Gordon Levitt. I think was surprised me the most were a few of it 's characters/plot twists that I didn't see coming and were REALLY well kept secrets. It's very important to watch this movie before getting all of that information ahead of time. I LOVED the ending and it gave me a great feeling of pleasure to know that if it was going to end this way for Nolan, then I am ok with how he did. The door is still open for a return and if the studio wanted they could find someone to carry the torch to the next level, but if they go that route it better be someone who can try to at least maintain the bar that has already been raised and set on this franchise. We aren't ever going to accept anything less than this trilogy, so get your best guy on this one going forward or promise Mr. Nolan a check he can't refuse. By the way, I watched it in IMAX format which is the ONLY way you should watch this movie if possible for you. The scenes filmed with IMAX cameras are just stunning. I plan to see this movie at least 2 more times in IMAX before it leaves theaters. Home theaters are great today, but can't come close to the IMAX experience. Thank you Christopher Nolan for giving the world the Batman it deserved and I look forward to your work on Superman!
First of all, IMAX 3D is the ONLY way to watch this movie. I have seen it twice now and it got better the second go around. It's exactly what you want it to be and nothing more. Technologically amazing and a fun ride. It leaves you wanting more and I for one am waiting for a follow up to deliver ASAP. This movie must have been expected to be Oscar worthy because the reviews I am seeing means expectations were set to high to begin with. It's a must see and it's what the Summer of 2010 was missing.
I didn't know all the details on how Facebook came to be, but now that I know I actually want to see it again. I am not even a fan of Facebook, AT ALL, and I still really enjoyed the movie (for those thinking they won't see it because they don't care for Facebook). Jesse Eisenberg was the perfect cast for this role as he had me believing I was actually watching a real documentary. JT's role of playing Sean Parker seemed spot on and the supporting cast was great. I will buy this movie when it comes out, so I can be reminded that a sad breakup with a girl you love can result in a multi-billion dollar idea. Bet she wishes she didn't call him an a$$h@le now. A MUST SEE!!!
If Jason Bourne was a hot woman, he would be Angelina Jolie. Fun filled, action packed joyride that keeps you on your toes from start to finish. So when does the sequel come out?
I grew up on the first Karate Kid and still watch it today. I went into this version actually just to see if it came close or just was really bad to see it copied. I was blown away on how good it was and how much better the acting was. Jaden would kick Ralph's butt for starters and that's just in his acting, forget about what he would do on a mat. Jackie Chan probably had his best acting performance ever and the subtle references to the first movie were appreciated. I can't wait for part 2?!?!
Yes Dark Knight was amazing, but it was great acting and story telling that made it great. This movie is exactly what it was supposed to be, an exact movie version of a comic book. You couldn't have done a better job of giving a movie a comic feel and then making the ride so enjoyable. How can you not LOVE Hit Girl? I can't wait for the sequel.
I am not sure why all the critics hate on Bay. There will be plenty of movies that come out that the Academy will love, but why do you insist on beating up on pure enjoyment. You can tell this movie was made with one genre in mind, the fans of the series from the 80's. I grew up on these guys and seeing old favorites come back in a new way is fun and exciting. Plus, the fight scene in the forest presented in IMAX was one of my favorite movie moments of all time. It was STUNNING! Even the climax was great. How often to final fight scenes really last as long as you want them to? Hardly ever. So if you are a fan of the Transformers and enjoy 2hr 30m of pure excitement then you MUST see this movie. And if you can, try to see it in IMAX. WOW!
Maybe the most amazing piece of movie making I ever saw. The storylines, the characters, the acting and the amazing action was non-stop for the entire length of the movie. I only wish it never stopped. 2hr and 30 min, for me could have been 10 hours and still loved it. Can't wait to see it again in the IMAX!
The one thing you know you are going to get with Will Smith is a good time for your money. The movie was very entertaining, had a nice twist and seems like it could be a franchise. Where every other Super Hero is born from comic books, this is a creative new take on such a character. If you want to get away from life for about 90 minutes and have a good time, so Hancock.
