I'm still confused by the bad reviews this epic movie received. Much better than the origional, but I loved the nods to the first. Great story telling with just enough of the back story. Solid acting, great special effects, cool futuristic otherword. This sound track is off the chain! Really captures and adds to the feel of the movie. Loved it in 3D IMAX, well worth the upcharge. I will see this one more than once. And I must mention, a truly clean family film, I went to see myself before taking my 8 year old, but he will be returning with me. I can't wait!
It was a little slow to start, but once it got going the action just kept coming. The plot had more twists and turns than any well thought out maze. If you like twisting plots where you can get lost , you will love this action packed adventure. Warning not a movie for anyone who doesn't like sci-fi (God forbid) or gets easily confused in twisty plots.
Don't let disenchanted individuals, who are cemented to the Nightmare of their youths, persuade you not to get out to the theaters to see the NEW Nightmare on Elm Street... Just because it isn't a complete throwback to the previously retired Nightmare does not mean it has nothing to offer the Horror genera as a whole. I liked the nods to the old Nightmare and enjoyed the unfolding of the new story.. I also thought the acting was adequate, considering the fact they choose actors and actresses new to the big screen. And I caught myself on the edge of my seat several times. It was a fun movie to see on the big screen, you'll be sorry if you miss it!
Wow... That's a wow, what was that I just watched. Sure there were some funny moments if you can get past and separate yourself from the fact they have a 9-11 year old girl going around cussing like a sailor and killing people with the efficiency of a serial killer. Not to mention the teen sex and drugs, and it still has a happy ending.... I'm just not ready for that world...
Not at all cheesy, like I expected... Gives your adrenalin a work out. I jumped several 20 or so times. From a 1 to 10 on the gore factor about a 7. This from a seasoned Horror movie goer. The Plot could have been expanded a little in regards to the reason they got "CrazY" but it wasn't necessary. Overall it was a well rounded action/horror flick!
If you loved Avatar you will get into Alice in Wonderland. The 3D effects are not as bold as Avatar but right up there. The characters will have you mesmerized. No one can play crazy like Johnny Depp! Went under the guise for my kids, but I enjoyed it just as much if not more. If you like fantasy/sci-fi this movie fits ages 6-70. Leaves you wanting more......
If you love fantasy and sci-fi you won't want to miss this epic! I'm so glad we chose to see it at IMAX 3D! So worth the extra bucks! Much of the world might have been lost! The kids kept trying to reach out to the things on the screen! Truely felt like we were on the adventure with the actors! It had a little bit of everything for everyone... Action, drama, aliens, and lots of Science fiction for even the most avid buff, but the scenery really stole the show! We felt like we were on another planet right along with the characters......
The only reason I didn't give it 5 out of 5 is because the previews lead me to believe that it was a sci fi movie... However, I still enjoyed its edge of the seat action. And the twists of the story line were enough to keep me watching and interested to see what happened to the characters.
We went to see this at the theater that has the reclining rumble seats, and I am so glad we did. I felt like I was in the movie. It was packed with action. I didn't know a movie that packed with action could be mushy too, but I found myself drawn to the characters, and crying when things went wrong for them. I hate to cry at the movies! It left me wanting to see more!
