A question was raised as to whether America is "ready" to see a movie about an abused African-American teenage girl twice impregnated by her father. I believe this movie is an important movie because the theme crosses ALL cultures. I believe mothers should take their teens to see this movie so that the teens can compare and contrast their mothers with the mother in this film. Maybe they will see that it's not so bad that the only demands made on them by their mothers are to keep their rooms clean and do their homework!

This is a very sad movie! But, very well produced. What an amazing horrific story. This is NOT a family movie. I was shocked to see so many children in the audience. There is a time and place for everything and this is movie is NOT. Good acting and crude rqw theme. To think there are real people like Precious in the world, seems so unfair. This movie was beyond what I expected. I am so happy that they put the book PUSH out there for all to see. What a story. Almost unimaginable, to think that all levels of abuse forced on one child by both parents. WOW! Definitely a go see movie. You will be disappointed if you don't see it at least one time.

The movie was great from beginning to end. You really would think that you were back in the late 80's. Everything from clothing, hair styles, lingo and music. Mo'nique's character was incredible and the woman who played Precious definitely came with her A game. The movie is unforgettable a true classic. The movie depicts life, real life. Only an open mind and open heart can embrace this film. Well done!

From the moment it began I was consumed by the story. To see Mo'Nique and Mariah Carey humble themselves from starlets to 'the average woman' in their roles was awe inspiring. Monique's performance touched you from skin to soul. In her first movie appearance and starring role, Gabby Sidibe, was Precious. Every emotion was seen, felt and experienced right along with her. I watched this movie on opening night. The audience was so entranced that we reacted as one. Such symmetry often made me forget that I was sharing this experience with strangers, instead of watching this from the comfort of my livingroom. The depth of this movie cannot be put into words. You must see this for yourself.

This movie was not at all what I expected. When I arrived to the theater people were leaving in tears, I was ready.......Only to be disappointed. The movie was boring and flat. The actors were great, however this is not a actor critique. I wish I would have gotten a heads up. I read the book, didn't really care for it, saw the movie and hated it. I support the cause but the movie did not do justice. I am not undermining the storyline it was very real, I didn't like the movie. Based on all the reviews I don't think I saw the same Precious as everyone else. Too much hype with no back up.

I felt like the issues surrounding the film were definitely more than I could stomach at times. The abuse that such a young girl endured was definitely disturbing at times but the acting was that great where it pulled you in to the story and you felt all of the emotions that the characters were going through. The movie is definitely worth seeing but make sure you are emotionally prepared for such a complex story line. Overall, the actors, director and producers did a phenomenal job of bringing this novel to life.

This is one of the best movies ever made. Lee Daniels really did the book justice, with a tweak here or there. Mo'Nique was utterly transformed in this role. When I read the book years ago I wondered who would ever play such an evil character; I never would have guessed Mo'Nique, but she knocked it out the park. And Gabby was outstanding; if this was her first performance she will redefine the world of acting. Thank you Sapphire for shedding light on a way of life too many people suffer. It doesn't matter where you start, it matters where you finish. I am utterly exhausted after watching this, but it was worth every tear and laughter.

Precious is not just about a young girl having two children by her molesting father, nor is it just about growing up in the hood, but rather, it's about triumph and surviving. The actors were so real in their role that it opens our eyes to what goes on in our world even to this day.
Although the leading role was superbly executed, this truly is Mo'Nique's best performance EVER. Although the language was strong, it was real and emotional. It's about real people, real situations, and above all, it touches your soul.
Great job to the cast and everyone involved. I can't wait for the next REAL heart touching movie. Bring it ON!

We know this tragedy exist in every country, race and social status. The day the defense attorneys & judges stop making excuses for these types of monsters, this type of crime will stop. The director was excellent in showing how the victim went into a fantasy world to block the emotional and physical pain she was enduring. Yes the movie was shocking but unfortunately it was reality! This movie is very powerful. I laughed & cried. The language is strong, but it is what it is. A story that touched my heart and a story I will never forget. This is what society need to see, although some of the details from the book were left out...I can understand and hopefully, this will pave the way for more films like this to be shown. This is realty and unfortunately there are victims in most homes, however, society never taught us how to cope with these issues.

Wow! Powerful true to life depiction of the strength of a very young woman. I felt for Precious as she went through hard times in her young life. It only makes me want and hope that her life is indeed better and she and the kids have overcome the struggles, mentally, physically, and emotionally. I pray that her life is golden from now on. Excellent portrayals on characters. I was expecting more.

A beautiful depiction of real life for so many children that seem to fall between the cracks in a system designed to help them. I think this is a movie that should be viewed by all of those who pursue a degree in Social Work. Mo'Nique was amazing in her role, this is the first time i have seen her in a dramatic role, Gabourey Sidibe as Precious gave a heart wrenching performance. . Both I believe should obtain an Oscar for their performance.

Monique was absolutely believable in this movie. Her perfomance left me gasping for air in some of the scenes. People should always remember that one never knows what another goes through in life and at home. Things like this happen all the time. Pay attention to the signs and don't be afraid to reach out. All I can say is "WOW"
