Exciting, fun movie for the whole family! It was an enjoyable spin on the previous movies. I truly enjoyed meeting the younger versions of beloved characters as well as seeing the orignal Spock. Great adventure. Will see it again!

I loved the movie. Full of action, but the special effects didn't overwhelm the story. The idea of an alternate timeline allowed for a re-imagining of the Star Trek world without violating the integrity of the stories we know and love.
The only disappointment was the IMAX theatre. I usually go to the IMAX on 69th Street which is a 6-story screen. That theatre is great but it was sold out, so I went to 42nd Street. The screen was a bit larger than the ordinary multi-plex screen, but it didn't hold a candle to 69th Street. It didn't ruin the movie, but I don't feel I had an IMAX experience.

I sat in the very front--dodging space debris. Up close and personal the movie will stir powerful feelings of loyalty and solidarity near to the ending. In between it got laughs, conflicts, action, evoking a steady stream of Ohs and ahs from the movie viewers. There are no dull moments in this flict. It dwarfs all other space flicks that I have ever seen. I recommend sitting up close enough so flying objects pass right out of your field of vision!

From the start in watching the young Jim Kirk to seeing Spock speak to his younger self, this movies was interesting, non-stop action, and held my attention. We even applauded at the end. The only problem I had was watching the young Spock hold Uhura in a very erotic fashion. Good addition to my Star Trek collection.

Marvelous addaptation, well cast. While there are some discrepancies re. canon most are covered by the premise and none interfered with my enjoyment of the movie. Some strict adherents to tradition may miss having a "Doctor! the DNA is reversing itself!" moment at the end, but hey! That's what sequels are for.

Absolutely awesome. The characters were true to their original personalities. Special effects were outstanding. The script was brilliant in that it created a plausable reset to allow future sequils to be completely open to any new direction without being encumbered by adherence to Trek History. The story also was satisfiying to the Trekie while being able to stand alone, thus greeting new fans with open arms. I can't wait for the next one.

The movie met and went beyond my expectations. The characters were fun and well casted. Plot was believable and well thought of. Can't wait for the sequel :)
Only disappointment was the iMax theater. I thought the screen would be larger but it seemed like a regular screen size for me (I heard others making the same comments).

I really loved this movie. As a Star Trek was worried that this film would not pay proper respect to the classic crew members. I was really glad to see that they took the characters I have grown to love and made them fresh and new while still keeping all of the things I loved about them. The incorporation of all the characters to fit in the alternate plot was well done. Acting was superb and the soundtrack left you feeling the emotion of each piece. This is one of the best movies I have seen thus far that was able to span generations of both original trekkers and modern sci-fi fans.

Absolutely fantastic! I am a JJ Abrams fan and he did an outstanding job capturing the essence of Start Trek without venturing into camp. I loved this film and the IMAX visuals were great. The theater had the volume up to loud in the first few minutes but once it was adjusted it was perfect.

I do not consider myself a "Trekie", but I grew up with Star Trek and I liked most of the movies. This one, however, was the best. J.J. Abraams did a fantastic job keeping the characters true-to-form and provided a wonderful placement of humor that does the original series justice. Anyone unfamiliar with Star Trek but likes action/adventure movies would like this movie. However, those of us familar with Star Trek will truly appreciate the humor. I will buy this one when it comes out on DVD.

I am an avid Star Trek fan. I liked the original. OK with the Next Generation. This "restart" of how all the main characters came together was FANtastic! The casting was excellent, the humor was right on timing-wise and for "old" fans it connected with past memories. Great job and I hope the sequels will not be too far apart - and, they "live long and prosper"!

My husband, 15-year old son and I went to see this in the IMAX theatre - very enjoyable summer movie. You don't need to know the whole Star Trek story (really, don't need any of it) to enjoy the show - and the alternate time line really opens up the possibilities for future sequels.

REALLY enjoyed it. All the characters were incredible. Bones was unbelievably like the original. Everyone did well and were totally believable as the yonger versions. This movie was so perfect, the BORG would assimilate it. I am not yet convinced that the IMAX experience was worth it. I sat way in the back and viewed the screen images the same way as I would see them in a regular theater. Also, the IMAX projecter was tossing dust over the picture and I found it quite distracting. Though I am Star Trek fan, the fact is if this was not a Star Trek movie I would have still loved it. It is just a good, solid summer movie (in a good way!) that I plan on seeing again. I cannot remember the last movie I saw twice in the theater. Usually even if I love it I wait for DVD to see it again, but I don't want to wait for the DVD.
Also, this is the kind of movie IMAX is made for. Not just the image, but the sound and the mix was amazing.
Go, have fun. You will, and it works as a date movie (better than Wolverine did, trust me on that one........)

GREAT! Trivia nuts: Don't panic if for the first 45 minutes, you keep thinking, "That's wrong!" It will all work out in the end. JJ Abrams did a great job directing, but my only complaint is his overuse of quick cuts of handheld camera work...a bit frantic at times. Great acting...not just imitations of previous actors. The writing is excellent, except for the obvious lines that each character "must" say (Spock's "Facinating", Bones' "I'm a doctor, not a fill-in-the-blank") tend to come by in a checklist fashion. "OK, he said that one; cross it off the list". I guess I would have been ticked if they HADN'T said them, so oh well. Go see it, forget the campy 1960's sets and predictable plotlines, and enjoy!

Seeing Star Trek was good overall- the IMAX experience was perfect for this. The wit matched the original star trek in quality.
