Movie - Great, Theatre - Average

I loved the movie. Full of action, but the special effects didn't overwhelm the story. The idea of an alternate timeline allowed for a re-imagining of the Star Trek world without violating the integrity of the stories we know and love.
The only disappointment was the IMAX theatre. I usually go to the IMAX on 69th Street which is a 6-story screen. That theatre is great but it was sold out, so I went to 42nd Street. The screen was a bit larger than the ordinary multi-plex screen, but it didn't hold a candle to 69th Street. It didn't ruin the movie, but I don't feel I had an IMAX experience.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
