Cinematography much improved, actors did well, music (as always) is a good backdrop. Drives me crazy they invent scenes not in the book and drop important scenes that ARE in it. Despite that, still a good movie overall, but read the books!! So much superior to the movies...
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Excellent summer movie!

My husband, 15-year old son and I went to see this in the IMAX theatre - very enjoyable summer movie. You don't need to know the whole Star Trek story (really, don't need any of it) to enjoy the show - and the alternate time line really opens up the possibilities for future sequels.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
