Although the movie is not as good as the book, is really close to it. The producers did a great job with the movie is just as i imagined it when i was reading the book. The characters were perfect for the movie. It was a great experience. =)

As a fan of the book series, I was very pleased with the movie. It was quite true to the book, with a couple of small exceptions. As another reviewer has said, I think you need to have read the books, or you might get lost a bit during the movie. In that respect, it's rather like the Harry Potter movies - which I also LOVE!

I went to see this with a friend who had not read the books, so they were unable to follow along that well. If I hadn't given an overview of the book they said they would have thought the movie to jump around too much. I have read the book and found the movie did jump around and didn't flow as well as I had liked. I hope that the second one will be put together a little bit better. However it was nice to see the movie and gain visuals to coincide with the books. Robert did a great job with Edwards character as well. Nonetheless, Go see it if you enjoyed the books.

I feel so strongly, I'm actually reviewing this- I read the books & was excited to see the movie. What a disappointment! It is poorly done. SOME of the acting is ok - James, Jacob, Charlie, Cullens... Edward was awkward. He's HOT, but his role was just not shown well. Most of the acting is bad. The storyline is SO choppy. They cut & changed things. If I had not read the book, I wouldn't have been able to follow. Important things in the book - character development & Bella's lullaby, Bella/Edward's relationship, the Cullens, none of that was there! The Cullens' white house was described in detail in the book. The movie did not depict it even close to that. There are many other examples the same way. Read the book. The movie is mediocre.

"Twilight" was perfect. The movie was intense, breathtaking and exhilarating the whole time. I mean, what could be more perfect than a girl and a vampire falling in love? Absolutely nothing.
I have never seen so many teenage girls scream during a movie -- it was crazy. When Edward Cullen was introduced in one of the first scenes of the movie -- the theater went hysterical. Girls were screaming in every direction. Even though the constant noise throughout the movie was somewhat annoying, I couldn't help but feel overjoyed that I was actually there in the theater -watching this book come to life.
I'm definitely watching this movie again.

First off, I am 34 and my 16 yr old daughter got me interested in reading the series when I took her to the book release of "Breaking Dawn", the last book. If you have not read the book yet,then yes go see the movie. Then maybe you won't find yourself considerations on the details that were in the book that wasn't in the movie.I found myself doing just that. I think if I read the series after the movie then I could have liked it more then I did. But it was a nice translation of the book. I look forward to the second one, which we all know will and must happen!

I am in love with the books and was very excited about the movie. There are some differences from the book that was a bit annyoing for someone who is in love with the story, but if you watch it without trying to follow the book in your head, it was a very good movie. My fiance went with me and he hasn't read the books and he was able to follow the story, though he had a few questions afterwards. GREAT MOVIE. I was not disapointed!!!

I love the books and knew that it wouldn't be exactly like the book. I'd also seen enough clips and previews to know that, with their low budget, the special effects would leave something to be desired. I got exactly what I expected. Overall I thought the movie was pretty good. Rob looked gorgeous and the others were great. There were only a few moments where the cheesiness was overwhelming, but that was due more to the dialogue than the actors' performances. Some things were changed from the book, but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The sparkle wasn't as bad as I imagined it might be, but the jumping/flying was kind of lame. Those who have not read the books may not enjoy it as much, but overall I'd definitely recommend it.

So, if you liked the Twilight book, you'll probably like the movie. I expected it to be a bit cheezy since the book is a bit cheezy (in a good way)...and my expectations were met. My only complaints were 1) some of the acting is a bit ridiculous and 2) there are a few lines are WAY TOOcheezy. ANYHOW, if your a fan, you'll like it...if you haven't read it, this movie probably isn't for you!

I had friends who went to the midnight showing and told me it wasn't as good as the book. Well then again you can't compare a movie to a book (not even Harry Potter). In my opinion this movie was beyond amazing. I couldn't stop myself from screaming. I think they did a good match up to the book. But it really helps if you have read the book. BEST MOVIE EVER......will see again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very disappointed by the quality of the movie and the acting. Because of the popularity and following of these books I expected so much more! That being said I feel they did a great job with the integrity of the book and were able to include most of the story line. And who isn't in love with these characters? So although, the overall movie production was bad I still loved it because the beauty of the book was there!

I did not see this movie, but my 15 year old daughter and her friends did. They have all read the complete series of books. My daughter said the movie was good but not as good as the book or as good as what she expected. She would recommend it to others though.

The theater was packed, if I didn't get my tickets online we wouldn't have gotten in. It followed the book fairly well but I knew going in it could not be as GREAT as the book, they never are. The movie went by very fast & could easily been another hour (which every Twilight fan would LOVE). My disappointment was in the characters development particularly with Alice & Jacob! It had a few very funny moments made for the big screen & I loved the Stephenie Meyer cameo. I plan to go see it again with a friend who hasn't read the book. I hope that the DVD release will have tons of scenes that were cut simply for times sake. It looks like opening weekend will be a success for all involved SO... when is New Moon start production?

personally, i thought it was cheesy, the acting was medicore. the best part was with emmett and the knife, that just made me laugh. my least favorite part was when it took edward 10 minutes (exaggerating) to kiss bella. other than that i really dont plan on buying it even though im a twilight fan. also, i thought it was bella's acting when she got bitten was quite convincing. other than that blah.

I read the entire Twilight series, and fell in love with the love story of Bella & Edward. The movie fell very short of my expectations. The actors playing Bella, Charlie, Jacob, James, and Alice were great, but overall the acting was poor and the flow of the movie was not smooth. The running scenes were super-cheesy! I hope that the teeny-boppers liked it, but as an adult viewer, I thought it sucked.

Critical reviews of the movie are correct and the dialogue could have been much better - but after the first 30 minutes - you still become engrossed in the story. I am a mother with a 13 year old daughter - who is slightly obsessed with the books - having not read them - the movie was good enough to give me the nudge. The romantic tension between the 2 main characters is intense.

I have read all of the Twilight Series and I think that this movie did a great job of portraying all of the characters!!! It did seem to go by a little fast but it was still AWESOME!!! Also the special effects were a little cheezy at points like Edward running with Bella but the fight scene was not that bad. The all around movie was great, all of the actors did a great job. You get the same feeling in the movie as you did when reading the book. Robert Pattinson is the PERFECT Edward!!!!!!!!! I am officially DAZZLED!!!!

This movie was fast-paced, exciting , comedic & romantic, all in one!! I am a 61 yr old mother and grandmother who enjoys all types of reading material, and this story had me hooked from the first chapter to the end of the 4th book. I strongly suggest people who see the movie to read the book first!! Following the film will be much easier then and they will enjoy the movie with a better appreciation.

I loved the Twilight series and the movie did follow the book. I just wish they would have had a different cast. I understand what Edward was trying to portray in the beginning when he was "holding back" from Bella but it came across as bad, overdone acting. He should have taken a few classes from Angel to know how to really make that come across. Honestly the best actor was James, not to mention the cutiest! It does come down to personal preference, but I think someone who is a much better actor, not to mention better looking, should have been cast as Edward but I'm sure that viewpoint was not shared by the screaming 16 year old girls that shared the theater last night:)

or I would have know that I was in for a big disappointment . The actors did a good job w/ what they were given, but the screenplay & direction were way off base. Relationships rushed thru, cramming important scenes into one. Fabricated scenes that didn't make sense. The movie should have set up this love story & thrown in the action where it needed, but in Hollywood, it's all about making a buck, not about making a good movie. The studio told the actors not to take themselves to seriously, that the movie was supposed to be "fun." The book had "fun" dialogue, but the story was never "funny", the movie however was. Do studio execs., directors, etc., even watch movies anymore? Why can't they just leave a good book alone & put it on screen?

After reading the books first I figured the movie would not be as good but I was happily surprised by how well they wrote the movie to keep it true to the book. Robert Pattinson is a perfect Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart is Bella, no doubt. I went with my fiance who has never read the books and now he wants to!! Go see this movie it is awesome!!

I guess I had really high hopes for the movie and I was disappointed. I thought Edward was over done, Bella was ok. I felt like some parts of the movie was forced, what was up with Billy's jokes? I'm still glad I saw the movie but it left me wanting more .....of the books. GO TEAM EDWARD!!!
