A Worthy Ending

After wondering if I was insane to attend a midnight premiere with my 16 year old - it was definitely worth it!!! Great ending to a wonderful movie and paid respect to the book - hardly minded staying up until 2:30 AM.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This really is not a remake but is a fabulous story told a different way. Bridges' Cogburn is a rascal - but you will love him despite himself. The young Mattie Ross is so wonderful that you will remember her long after the movie is over - and the scenery and feel of the movie - hit just the right tone. Most especially I loved the language of the film. Excellent movie.

Critical reviews of the movie are correct and the dialogue could have been much better - but after the first 30 minutes - you still become engrossed in the story. I am a mother with a 13 year old daughter - who is slightly obsessed with the books - having not read them - the movie was good enough to give me the nudge. The romantic tension between the 2 main characters is intense.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
