From beginning to end this movie provides so many repeated moments of hilarity that even if we haven't personally experienced them, we can laugh out loud at! The underlying story is sweet, and I caught myself really rooting for the cake baby and the cop! The food poisoning scene in the bridal salon, the conversations with the "air marshall" especially made me roar with laughter! My husband was like, "ok I will go see a chick movie with you" and he lauged every bit as hard as I did and kept laughing randomly everytime he thought of a scene for the next day! Undoubtedly the funniest movie I have ever seen!

"Bridesmaids" hit the mark. If the guys think they're the only ones who can do gross-out comedy, they're sadly mistaken. Everyone in the movie did a great job. Melissa McCarthy proves that she is one of the funniest women in comedy. This movie will keep you rolling the aisles. Kristen Wiig does a great job of showing a wide range of emotions while still being hilarious.
Unfortunately, you miss some of the lines because the audience can't stop laughing.

Kristen Wiig comes into her own with this hilarious yet poignant movie about close female relationships and the chaos change brings. Throw in some very true to life male characters and you have a movie that strikes a chord and brings you full circle. Maya Rudolph is great as usual, but the sister of the groom does a lot to steal the movie. And Officer Rhodes is excellent. Nice to see a movie set in Milwaukee and the Chicago burbs and NOT LA or NY or some typical urban setting.

Wow... is good to finally see a comedy that actually isn't just random stuff all over the place.... and also that saves some of the laughs for the actual movie experience.
Kristen Wiig is hilarious and also so talented that it appears she will be able to stretch into meatier roles. However, best part--- she is still hysterical...
I loved it.... my husband liked it. We both agreed it was much better than Hall Pass-- we liked Hall Pass---but this was, again not random over the top gag comedy... but more focused comedy. Other reviewers mentioned slow parts. I know what they mean. That said, I feel like the movie had excellent pacing. The slower parts to me were part of the evolving story of the characters.... and appropriate places to let the movie "breathe" and the audience catch it's breath.

"Bridesmaids" is absolutely hilarious and very realistic. The movie is much better that the trailers indicate. Annie (Kristen Wiig) and Lillian (Maya Rudolph) have been life long girlfriends. When Lillian suddenly announces that she is engaged and wants Annie to be her maid of honor. Annie accepts, but you can tell she does not share her friend's happiness. During the course of preparing for the upcoming nuptials (Dress fitting, Bridal Shower and Bachelorette Party), Annie's life unravels which causes a lot of unnecessary tension and problems amongst the Bride-to-be and the Bridesmaids. The story unfolds from there... "Bridesmaids" is very well done. Kristen Wiig showed up and really acted. She put her name on the map. There are some really crazy, stupid and crude things that happen in this movie, you will be laughing your head off.

LOVED it! I love Kristin Wiig (sp) on SNL and she's even better in this movie (however she shouldn't wear so many mini-skirts IMO).
"Heavy" bridesmaid was new to me and especially hilarious. It's NOT "The Hangover" for women as advertised, has deeper, more touching moments (as all women do, right?). Hilarious... First scene would be inappropriate for teens (I contemplated taking my 15-yr old who loves SNL).

I was half-expecting the same old "twaddle" that often accompanies "Saturday Night" players and alumni onto the big screen .... but what a pleasant surprise to see that "Bridesmaids" delivers the laughs - and then some! All of the cast is spot on and they are all very funny. The scene after the girls eat Mexican and then try on their white wedding dresses - that scene alone - would be more than worth the price of a movie ticket! Literally laughed until I cried multiple times. What more can you ask from a modern era movie comedy? Not a chick flick on any level .... but chicks and guys - who like a little "raunch" with their comedy film fare - will love this one. High marks. Every bit as hilarious as "The Hangover"! We can only hope for a Bridesmaids II. Kudos to all involved. A big, juicy rhino horn up! Don't miss it!

If you want to see a very funny movie, you will get your money's worth here. It's over 2 hours long and you won't notice the time because you will be laughing so hard. Bridesmaids was an average movie from Apatow Productions. With Apatow being attached to it, you would think okay this will really be funny, with a moment or two of true sentiment involved. Not so with this movie, essentially this movie is a bunch of recycled jokes, using female actors instead of male ones. Does it really make a difference if its a man or woman who has uncontrollable diarrhea? Not really. You could find these characters in numerous movies. Is it a hangover for the women?, maybe if they never seen another comedy movie before in there life.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

my hubby was skeptical b/c of the title that we were going to see a 'chick flick' but we both laughed so hard our abs hurt still today. very funny movie, both loved it. we will be watching this over and over when it comes out on dvd/dvr/netflix. highly reccommend!

Thought this might be a "chicki flick" but I laughed my head off at some of the situations and humorous lines. I did not recongnize any of the primary actors/actresses but the cast was exceptional. I really enjoyed the movie!!
