Wow... is good to finally see a comedy that actually isn't just random stuff all over the place.... and also that saves some of the laughs for the actual movie experience.
Kristen Wiig is hilarious and also so talented that it appears she will be able to stretch into meatier roles. However, best part--- she is still hysterical...
I loved it.... my husband liked it. We both agreed it was much better than Hall Pass-- we liked Hall Pass---but this was, again not random over the top gag comedy... but more focused comedy. Other reviewers mentioned slow parts. I know what they mean. That said, I feel like the movie had excellent pacing. The slower parts to me were part of the evolving story of the characters.... and appropriate places to let the movie "breathe" and the audience catch it's breath.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

We were looking for a comedy. This delivers. The only thing that is disappointing is many of the funniest bits you have already heard from previews. That said, I agree with another review... prior to seeing this really had no need to see Russeld Brand, period. Previews came out at home... still not going. Saw a few in theatre that focused more on Helen Mirren.... and nods to original Arthur and thought... okay... need to see. Helen Mirren is excellent in this role (but she's Helen Mirren). Russell Brand occassionaly was a little hard to catch on a mumble... but that's the point.... he's drunk. Was really impressed with his range of acting ability. This movie was a perfect fit for him. Jennifer Garner played a perfect even more evil version of Susan. A well done remake of original. Not totally sure what kept me from giving it a five. Felt like I kept waiting for something... don't think I'm being to hard. I guess a wanted a couple more surprises that I hadn't seen in previews.... still funny. Hollywood are you listening (no!).... the world needs comic relief now more than ever. Find better ways to edit the previews... get a few zings in... but make sure the are all not gone. An example of a recent movie that did this well was : Just Go With It. You had a good idea going in.... but no clue until you got there. Then it was shockingly laugh out loud funny....
Yes, I recommend this movie.

If you are looking for a good laugh then this might be up your alley.
If sexual references bother you or make you uncomfortable.... then this is not your movie.
That said... parts of it are absolutely hysterical. Would I see it with my 16 year old... no. Was it uncomfortable to watch with my husband... no.
Did we both give it "thumbs up". One: yes

Yes, I recommend this movie.
