A great film if you ever enjoyed the superhero/comic scene. Beyond the action, the humor was really well done. The script was good, the actors were perfectly cast. For me, this had all the enjoyability of The Incredibles, but with an adult edge to it.
Please don't bring your kids to this. In our theatre there was a woman who had 2 junior high aged kids with her. While I'm sure they enjoyed it, this is not an appropriate film for that age.

Yes - when I saw the comic when I went to buy an up to date version of Watchmen. I thought it was a cool concept but decent comic to read. Lost interest 2 years ago. But when I heard they were going to do a movie for it. I thought damn. Really and who would do the direction. Soooo, I went to see it.
Kick ass is a great coming to age, adolescent movie that has action, twisted humor and violence (be prepared) and overall entertaining. It seemed so simple to think about but the concept was why are people just standing by. Why can't any one be a super hero. And it goes from there.

Movie was okay, that's about it. I don't think anybody over 25 is reviewing this movie. I get the plot but it's just not that funny. The best parts were the actions scenes of the little girl and Nick Cage, but just didn't measure up in my opinion. If you are going to see it and you are of the 30's and up crowd then hit the matinee, or rent it.

Was pretty stellar but they did tone it down a bit, from the book, especially on the torture scene. But overall one of the best adaptations of the film, except big daddy didn't look like batman. But still it worked out and was still good even though they cut alot of things out.

This was a decent movie, fun to watch and an interesting story line. That being said, its tough to really enjoy an 11 year old girl using really bad language and killing lots of people. If you can get by that the movie is quite entertaining and will not really be what most people expect. It is truly a comic book movie, so remember that and see it for what it is and you'll enjoy it.

I expected a goofy comedy and got a high energy action film that in a way rivaled Pulp Fiction, Spider Man and Kill Bill but with a teen perspective. You will find yourself cheering for more action and violence even though there is plenty. This film is not for young children because there is graphic although quick killing. I went into this movie with my teenaged daughter expecting that i'd catch up on my sleep during another B Grade superhero movie while waiting for Iron Man 2 to come out. What a shocker! It's been a long time since I've been so thouroughly entertained by a movie. What a Fresh concept with unexpected plot twists... do yourself a favor and see this movie if you like laughter thrills and a new take on the superhero Genre. BTW the less you know about it, the more fun you'll have... WARNING! The bloody scenes are too much for younger kids.

PLEASE, HOW COULD SOMEONE GET OFFENDED BECAUSE OF THE VIOLENCE IN THIS MOVIE? I'M A 43 YEARS OLD LADY AND I REALLY ENJOYED IT , MY HUSBAND LOVED IT TOO, I WANNA SEE IT AGAIN, ACTUALLY I RECOMMENDED TO ALL MY FRIENDS. This movie was really really good. I went into it, not really knowing what to expect, what I got was a really funny superhero origins story.
Dave was an ordinary guy who thought it would be cool to be a superhero, so he gives it a shot and is thrown into a world, he is not at all ready for. He learns quickly that being a superhero isn't all like how the comics make it out to be.
This movie has some pretty dark humor in it and is quite gory and vulgar. Most of the gore and vulgarity coming from the 11 year old, Hit-Girl, who is by far one of the coolest characters to hit the screen in a while.
We have the big boss villain, the vigilante ex-cop and his daughter and finally the dorky wannabe superhero. Not to mention the son of the big boss villain who has his own superhero persona that he uses to infiltrate the good guys.
If you're a fan of dark comedy, comic books and good action movies, you should check this one out. It was really impressive.
I give Kick-Ass a 10 on the Dork-o-Meter
