I went in with mediocre expectations and came out saying it was the best depiction of A Christmas Carol that I have seen. A lot due to the CGI, I'm sure. The only warning I would say is that it is not for kids under 8 or 9. I saw 2 families leave. I was happy I hadn't brought my grandkids thereby allowing me to enjoy the movie without worrying about them being frightened during certain scenes.
I have not read the books, but this movie seemed like filler to me. Nothing really exciting, not much wizardry, couple of flying soccer matches. Mostly, the kids just growing up and getting antsy for each other. Worth the watch, if only to keep up. But you won't walk away dazzled and saying it was awesome.
Most action of any Bond movie in years. It is so nice to have a James Bond who acts and LOOKS like an actual agent. Through the years I stopped watching the prissy, every hair in place Bond actors. The only down side is that the content of the story was somewhat weak. All in all, an enjoyable movie.
I love the actors and went in just knowing it would be great and I did enjoy the ride. The ending left me flat and realizing that it was a "renter" afterall. Very disappointed, as was everyone else in the audience.
