Way to political

Two separate reviews...As a kids movie it was great. My boys loved the characters and the created world as they do in all Dr. Seuss films/stories. If you have kids, go see this movie. The kids will love it. Now, the second review...I found the political overtones way to much for my tastes. Obviously kids won't pick up on it so its easy to ignore but it is a bit much. Flashing the signs "To big to fail" and others as things are going awry simply got on my nerves. I am a Biology / Environmental Science double major so I appreciate the conservation message but the politics were over the top.

Realistic!

I have read through some of these reviews and must say...some people don't get it. Comments about "acting" and propaganda... wow, just wow. The conversations in mission prep are accurate, spoken matter of factly, and the "acting" is dead on. Most of these comments are obviously coming from people that have never spent time on the two-way range. While having "Hollywood" in it, this movie is very accurate. The message is excellent, and the sacrifice these men and women make is immense. Watch it, enjoy it, and remember the sacrifices made daily.....

Chemistry!

Another excellent piece of work from Robert Downey and Jude Law. Their on-screen chemistry is amazing! This movie series is fun to watch, that is for sure. The action sequences with the exploding shells and trees is worth the price of admission itself.

More history please!

First the bad. This story starts with the 332nd already in Italy so there is no background on the training or bigotry that they endured in the states. That ends the bad. The story, based in history, is well told, with excellent action sequences. Even in victory these pilots were treated poorly, at least until their skills were truly exposed! This is not a remake of "The Tuskegee Airmen" so don't have that thought going in. A fitting tribute to a phenomenal group of fighting men!

Very Enjoyable

I took my family to see this movie, including my 6 and 4 year old boys. I will admit I was a little nervous of the content (even though it is animated). I was pleasantly surprised. The movie is quite funny, engaging, and has an excellent plot. My 6 year old was engrossed in it. My 4 year old liked it but the story was over his head. I would certainly recommend this movie to families with kids over 6.

I was surprised!

I must admit I went into this a little skeptical. However, by the end, I was quite surprised. Hugh Jackman, who always seems to play a character you like, was quite unlikable in the beginning...However, by the end, you see the transformation in him. The chemistry between he and his young co-star was excellent. The CGI robots were absolutely awesome and the fight scenes were very well done. An excellent film with an excellent message! Worth watching in IMAX for the fight scenes alone!

The things I learned!

I have always enjoyed playing baseball. I have not really worried about how the business end of the game. This movie shows a very entertaining view of the business end of the game. Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill work very well together and this film is very good. Remember, this is not an "action" baseball movie, but is all about the new player management system put into use in the early 2000's. Worth watching!

Excellent Message

This movie is probably one of the most emotional I believe I have seen in some time. It takes you all over the map emotionally and at the same time delivers an excellent message. I can relate to the message about law enforcement and the toll it takes on the family and believe that it is portrayed quite well. Leave your tactical mind out of it and listen to the message. Fathers are needed and necessary to raise well-rounded kids. Excellent film and highly recommended, especially for fathers.

Very Funny!

This movie is exactly as advertised! Very funny and very well acted. Jennifer Anniston fans that are used to her being "Friends" style are in for a shock. I especially loved the last line of the movie...it fit the story perfectly. Jason Bateman has really established himself and his style of character. Check this one out, you won't be disappointed.

Good, Solid Western...with a twist

I walked into this movie with a bit of apprehension I must say. That apprehension was quickly erased with a smile! Daniel Craig is an outstanding cowboy that delivers great action sequences with a stoic face. Harrison Ford is great as usual! This is a fun, action movie set in the old west, not something that is supposed to be taken seriously as some of the negative comments are suggesting. Enjoy the story and let yourself get caught in the danger of the aliens!
