This movie was great. The graphics were perfect, the IMAX 3-D was a great experience. The story was interesting enough to keep a non-cartoon person (me) and a 4 year old totally engrossed. I seen this with my daughters and the message of acceptance and understanding was there for us but I think it would be great for a father/son movie.

Wasn't overly impressed for the first 20 minutes of the movie but once Hiccup meets the dragon things improved immensely. Was really bowled over by the whole Imax experience and would definitely recommend spending the extra bucks to see it this way- thought the flying sequences were up there with Avatar. Beware: our 3-yr-old was very scared during several scenes and, coupled with the fact that the 3D glasses were way too big for him and kept falling off (when will they realise kids are the main audience for these 3D movies and bring out smaller glasses?!), we kinda wasted $15 on his ticket.

This movie is not for kids age 5-6. We took ours and had to leave mid through it because it was lacking in jokes and humor but full of fight scenes. The movie itself is good but not appropriate for 5 and 6 year old. Also, the trailer for Tron Legacy was very scary and had a few kids in the theatre start crying (luckily not ours which were scared only later on during the Dragon movie itself).

I would definitely recommend seeing the movie in Imax 3D, although the price was a bit expensive for the 1:38 run time. The story, animation and voice acting were supurb! It was a really great movie which will be an instant classic- both my kids (ages 7 and 10) and I loved it! Kudos to Dreamworks!

Imax was the third viewing of this movie for me, having seen it twice on the regular screen. I invited a few friends and the whole family to go, and they absolutely loved it. My Father kept raving after the film how he still felt like he was flying over the mountains and seas, and that the Imax 3d experience felt like a terrific hour and a half long theme-park ride.
We are fans of other dreamworks flicks, and while 'How to Train your Dragon" shares little in common with 'Shrek,' we still greatly appreciated the large volumes of humour. This being my third time, I was still catching more of the subtle jokes, as dreamworks does.
Even if you've seen it once, you will still have a fun new experience with future viewings.
Overall: Visuals and animation: Amazing. Music: Amazing Dialog: great for the most part. a few scenes the narration sound off a bit. Story: Fun and memorable. Theres something for adults and kids alike.

The 3D was amazing. The movie was action packed and fun. This is one of the best movies, in a long time, for a family night out.

As soon as we started seeing the trailers, we wanted to see it. Later trailers had my daughter thinking it may be not worth seeing, but I 'twisted' her arm ... and we saw it first in 3D, and then went back the next day to see it in IMAX 3D! She absolutely loves it! A teenager, she didn't want the typical Disney-type movie where the producer hits you over the head with a lesson ... this movie had a lesson, true, but it was skillfully applied. This is a movie to be enjoyed by ALL ages (taking into account the PG rating) ... from young to old! She wants to go see it a few more times before it leaves the theater!

This was by far an outstanding action packed movie yet has some tender moments to be enjoyed by the whole family! Had no idea I would be in LOVE with a dragon movie, but I was! Get your family together and go enjoy this heartwarming film about a boy and his journey to find his place in the world!
