The Harry Potter series of books contain much more than exploits of a young wizard. The movies, although very good, tend to focus more on the "wizardly" effects. I always feel the movies are good but miss much of what the books contain. I also feel the extra cost of IMAX 3D is not worth it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Memory loss accompanied by an epiphany that leads to a behavior change is not a new story (Total Recall and Bourne Identity are two examples). Predictable car chases & special effects were OK. Liam Neeson is a fine actor. He has had better roles in the past and will have better roles in the future.
Would get 5 stars if Dreamworks had cleaned up the noise and distracting dialogue. Dreamworks should have had more confidence in the story and the visual effects to sell the movie.
Not enough character, plot and theme development. Fascinating era provides rich context for the story. Mann didn't use it. A little more time on background themes and less time with gun battles.
