Do yourself a favor and watch this film masterpiece. Everything about this movie is spectacular with groundbreaking visual technology that will forever change the film industry. James Cameron, well known for the Terminator (1 and 2) and Titanic, has once again made movie magic with his latest release. The brilliant director spent over ten years making this movie, and he did an outstanding job of creating a brand new world and immersing the audience into it's beauty and wonder. Great cast, great score, greatest visual effects ever in a movie, and great storyline. Just go watch it, you'll get your moneys worth and so much more (especially in Imax 3D)

I actually had no intentions of going to see this movie on premier night. I hate crowded theaters. However, this was also my first 3D IMAX movie, and I can say that I was truly impressed. I fully recommend that if you can, see it in 3D. Far and away Cameron's best film. Even more groundbreaking than Terminator. Deserving of the Academy for Visual Effects.

There is so much buzz about the internet right now with this film it's crazy. Although, it really is deserved because of how friggen awesome the movie was. The score, the visuals, the story itself and just WOW. To be honest, one of the commercials on tv right now sums it up and that is: from this movie on, movies will be made differently because Avatar has set a new, very high bar.
If asked, I of course will recommend this to everyone because of its awesomeness. In fact, I am about to go again tonight with another friend.

I absolutely loved this movie, and it is now one of my all time favorites. It's like Lord of the Rings meets every good Sci-Fi movie ever made. It was incredibly epic, alien, compelling, and visually stunning. You really felt like you were a part of the story, and thus immersed in another world. Forget that it's pushing a very green-peace message, and it's built on the plot of quite a few other successful Sci-Fi flicks. It's groundbreaking, and I can very easily see myself shelling out another $15 just to experience it again. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

This movie was truly exhilarating in Imax 3-D. From the moment the movie begins through to the unexpected ending the experience of Avatar was completely unique. You could fall in love with these characters both the humans and the indigenous people. The movie touches you on so many levels it almost makes you feel like your part of this fantastic new world.
You're gonna hope the movie never ended when you leave the theater. Ranks top of my list over The Dark Knight.

This is by far one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. The story was very well thought out, nothing cliché or overused; very unique concepts. Hats off to the CG artists who worked on this, everything looked real even when the actual actors were part of a scene alongside them. Overall, a definite must-see, and worth going to see more than once. Can't wait for the dvd release.

In all fairness, I'm writing this as an James Cameron fan. His pioneering spirit will be the propelling force in movies for years to come. Now for the film itself, believe me when I say it's a must see. This is not the "Story of the Year" by any means but this is the "Most Visually Stunning Movie of All Time".
The story while simple is a very effective backdrop. It doesn't get overly complicated which is great because believe me when I say you will be amazed at what you are seeing.
Just do yourself a favor and realize that there has been no precedent for a movie like this and be prepared to see 3D not as a gimmick but as real life.

This movie has changed how I feel and view movies. The level of detail is second to none and I highly recommend viewing in IMAX 3D. The IMAX 3D version will have you feeling as if you're on the planet Pandora first hand. The brief few scenes that are in First Person View are phenomenal.

What an amazing movies. It really had the best of ALL things - extreme joy & sadness, beauty and ugliness, grace and greed.
What a ride - laughter, tears, rapture and terror.
Suggest taking a Tylenol/Advil before the film. 2.5 hours of intense IMAX 3D can be hard on the eyes. But well worth it!

Probably the best movie of the decade. Puts Lucas' star wars prequels to SHAME. This movie, as advertised, just changed the way we will watch movies, FOREVER! Go watch this movie with as many people as possible, friends, family young and old, it is sure to please all. Waited in line for 6 hours, and it was Worth it! just cant say enough about this movie people, you really just gotta see for yourself...

Avatar, which really must be seen in IMAX 3d, propels viewers along on an amazing journey to a beautiful world straight from the mind of the imaginative Cameron. Dealing with many powerful themes in it’s' almost 3 hours, I think that each viewer will take with them something a bit different. Bottom line: Whether you like the plot and characters or not, this movie delivers an immersive and spectacular experience second to none.

There are no words that can describe what your eyes feel while watching this movie. i mean ya Cameron did a really good job with story, direction, actors etc... Overall the most entertaining this about the film was the immersion that takes place while watching it in 3D. Every little stone, tree branch, blade of grass and creature. You really feel like your in Pandora. There is no other way to experience this movie!!!!! 5 STARS

Ok this film is MADE for the IMAX experience, it was shot with an IMAX camera, and the result is an amazing movie, plot and with the extra spice that Its 3D and -actually- looks good up there while playing. Unlike most other movies that are only adjusted to make it work with 3D. James Cameron has made an excellent film, that didn't feel at all like it was almost 3 hours long. Id gladly pay the 14 dollars again to see it.

I've never seen anything like Avatar - the special effects are nothing short of stunning. If you are even thinking about seeing this movie, make sure you treat yourself to seeing it in IMAX 3D. This is NOT the time to wait for the movie to come to video. Running time seems long, but you won't even notice, it's that good! Jon Stewart was right...James Cameron is a wizard!

Incredible movie, extraordinary(greatest) special effects. I have been promoting this movie for close to a decade and I have to say, it was well worth it. Yeah, it was great Plenty of eye candy. Jim took some of the best from The Abyss, T2 and Aliens and wrapped it all in a fun, fast paced, action adventure! I only looked at my watch once...and that was hoping there was more! Certainly not too rough for the younger crowd, I hope he will release a beefed up version on Blu Ray!....and just in time for Home 3D! Yes, Jim is still KING OF 2 WORLDS!

I went into this movie expecting something like the Hangover: An over-hyped movie that while not being great, was still pretty good. I think this one may have actually lived up to the hype, though. The movie switches from full CGI to live action throughout the movie, but the CGI is so amazingly done that it doesn't really seem that way when you're watching the movie--it's just changing scenes like any other movie.
The plot is old traditions given a new twist, and is great. It is not super complicated, but complicated enough to get you involved and make you worried for the characters.
I think the most simple, best thing I can say about the movie is that it doesn't feel like a 2hr 40min movie... It feels much shorter.

Mo-cap, both phenomenal and jejune.Characters are thin,the story simply does not call upon them more often.And sadly,I just wasn't buying the romance part of the film,its development just wasn't shown.Saldana's performance was solid, she receives a lot of screen time, and because she is playing a character out of our cultural norm,makes us believe her and her people.Lang had an awesome role,plays the school bully who is also the cool guy on campus wonderfully.Horner score compliments the film without becoming distracting or generic.Creatures are neat, realistic and make the world realistic. It lacks the emotional depth,but does offer a tour de force experience.A good film experience,maybe not a great film.
