Not Bad At All

I went into this movie, at the local IMAX theater for the 3D version, with very low expectations which turned out to be a great idea. I enjoyed the movie immensely, and so did the two other friends I went to see it with.
I was pleasantly surprised with how much the movie was cute, fun, funny (especially for us adults) and then it kept getting better. I would just have to say, a lot of these computer animated movies as well as normal animated movies, are tending to be catered to adults, rather than children. Not complaining here, just saying.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

There is so much buzz about the internet right now with this film it's crazy. Although, it really is deserved because of how friggen awesome the movie was. The score, the visuals, the story itself and just WOW. To be honest, one of the commercials on tv right now sums it up and that is: from this movie on, movies will be made differently because Avatar has set a new, very high bar.
If asked, I of course will recommend this to everyone because of its awesomeness. In fact, I am about to go again tonight with another friend.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I would have to say that the movie was decent. I loved the majority of the story, especially the major disasters. The only thing that I didn't like about it was that a portion before the movie ended was a bit overdone, but the disaster was cool.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Alright folks, Warner Brothers has done it yet again. This film is somewhat lengthy, running at 2hrs 20min after previews, but it was a wonderful ride that I wished would have never ended.
At first glimpse of the more adult, darker side of Batman run off of the "Dark Knight" comics was absolutely fantastic and I didn't think that it could be outdone. Very thankfully, I was proven wrong as I sat down to watch this film at the very first showing at the Ultra Screen in Oakdale Mn.
First off, I was overwhelmed by the size of the picture, not to mention the intensity of this movie. However, as the movie began, I found myself drawn into the movie, keeping me completely glued to what was going on and that deserves merit.
In this installment, we have the sequel to "Batman Begins" as I am sure most movie goers are aware of. Also, we have one of the last performances that we will ever see of the late and now great Heath Ledger. The main actors, Christian Bale (Batman) and Heath Ledger (The Joker) were the focus of this installment. As before, Christian pulled off a very believable role of the day and night Bruce Wayne/Batman. However, as a new comer to this particular franchise, Heath Ledger had a bit of a role to live up to. As we know, in the Tim Burton Batman we had good ol' Jack Nicholson playing the role of the Joker and he was pretty damned good. I will say this and as many people will probably agree with me over time in seeing one of his last performances, Heath Ledger was over the top, but in a good way... ultimately replacing Jack's role as THE most memorable Joker in Batman.
What to say about the movie... well all I can say is it was phenominal and I don't know how I could even stress it enough. The movie starts off, it runs keeping you interested with incredible moments, continues down it's path without EVER hitting a "dead point" in the entirety of the movie. The movie does however have a couple drawbacks, but these are not bad drawbacks, it does however leave Warner Bros with a heafty challenge looming for the third installment that was already in many of the key actor's contracts. Heath's performance was so well done, so enthralling, so captivating that I really do not think it could EVER be done by another actor. This means that there are HUGE shoes to fill and I don't think Warner should even try and even though the Joker character isn't dead, it should be left alone because no one could outdo what Heath did. The second is that they have Harvey Dent become "Two Face" towards the last portion of the movie. Now I will not spoil things, but I just wish that they did not have his role be what it was in this film, but leave it for the next. So on the horizon, Warner needs to find another badguy, and I know there are a few to be done, but the question is... which one?
Fantastic moments in the movie include: what the Joker does with a pencil; what happens to the mob people; what happens during the chase scene; and my favorite by far is what happens at the hospital. These things mark Heath's outstanding performance and I really do hope that he winds up getting a well deserved Oscar for his outstanding performance.
For my rating, I doubt that any of you would think that I would give the "Dark Knight" anything less than 5 out of 5 stars... however it deserves more than what is typically given. 5 of 5, 10 of 10, whatever the scoring curve is could not rate this FANTASTIC movie!!! It is a definite MUST own and a testament to the fantastic actor that Heath Ledger is and was. May Heath rest in peace knowing that people, over the long passage of time, will be entertained by him in this movie, as well as any other movie that he had ever done and his work was... in my opinion, the best I have ever seen for a movie in this day and age. May God bless Heath Ledger's family and may he know that his work as an actor will be missed, especially since his role as the Joker could continue as long as there is a Batman.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
