This movie was awesome! Great 3D effects throughout! Looks like Disney's got their mojo back and the employees really take pride in the name again. Their movies had gone average for a while there. :-) But they've still got it!
Wouldn't advise small kids to see as it may be scary to some, and then again some will probably think it's great.

Saw this flick as a family....very entertaining, lot's of flying action, almost too much flying action~ especially if you have vertigo, like myself! Story was accurate, not quite as good as 1951 Alastair Sim version, but still well done. 3D added another dimension of excitement~ most families would enjoy.

My family had toured the train when it stopped in Denver and we saw a 3-D preview. I love A Christmas Carol and was looking forward to seeing this. It exceeded my expectations. Very well done. Absolutely fabulous! A bit scary in places for younger children. Must see in 3-D. The IMAX 3-D was amazing!

We saw this last week in 3D at an IMAX and it was quite impressive, however there are some very scary scenes for little ones. We did not have any children with us, but I could tell by the way I jumped out of my seat (at least twice) that this could be nightmare material for those under 10. I see that others thought it was too slow moving - I disagree - it was a faithful telling of the original story, and followed that pace. Those same kids must fidget during the original film! We really did enjoy the 3D effects and it was well worth the bother of wearing those oversized glasses over my own.....

I have to say that as a 45 year old adult, I have seen many versions of this film. I was very excited to see this film not only because it was a Disney film but also because I knew Jim Carrey would be his amazing self. Although Jim Carrey stayed true to character, Disney definitely disappointed me with this one. The film was too loud, at times the scenes were excruitating too long and drawn out and I had taken my children ages 9, 11 and 12. They all thought it to be very frightening at times and overall a dull story, one left to be seen honestly only by adults.

Super awesome visuals, very slow and boring movie. All the kids in the theater were bored and making noise... non-stop questions because they didn't understand what was going on. I knew the story, and although the 3d was good, the movie was just plain blah.... I didn't care if I saw the next scene. I was happy it ended so we could leave. My 5 and 1/2 year old daughter agreed that it was boring. It was way too expensive too. See Planet 51 and Fantastic Mr. Fox for the kids.

I saw the movie in 2D and 3D Both were excellent. The scenes flying over the city make your stomach flip flop in both views. The ghost scenes are scary for little ones and several scenes make the adults jump. I think the volume is too loud but that's my only complaint.

This was an excellent display of technology intertwined with fabulous story-telling. We enjoyed the perspective provided by the computer animation and the traditional English accents of the actors. The story was true to the original. That familiarity was juxtaposed with a level of visual, technological wonders that were all new to the story. Very creative twist on a well-loved original. It was, however, chilling and frightening at times (but fabulously done!). Children under 9 would benefit from an adult lap!

If you are at all familiar with the story, then nothing should come as a shock in this movie. In this day & age of violence and special effects you shouldn't expect a movie such as this to not be frightening at times. Just because it says Disney that doesn't mean you should automatically take toddlers. If your child is scared of the dark, at all, don't take them to see this movie. If you like the story, go see this movie. It's worth the extra for the IMAX/3D effects. Took my 10yr old & she liked it although she jumped a little in the beginning.
Not for children under 10, they won't understand the subject or most of the words/phrases used. Smaller children will definitely be scared of the ghosts/images and the volume of the movie.

I found this movie to be better than the Polar Express, which I really enjoyed too. The Imax theater just makes it that much better. Thanks so much for making it. I've allready told all my friends at work. The only thing I was disappointed in was the food was just outragously high priced. Wish you could lower the prices for the snacks, that would be great. If you are reading this review for the movie, I highly recommend it.

Between Disney's new 3-D technology and Jim Carrey they couldn't miss! My husband says they have to win some kind of award for animation, special effects or something!! Jim Carrey was superb, as always.
This version was not too scary or too sweet, but just right for kids and adults. Even our 23-year-old daughter loved it.
I cannot see other 3-D movies, but at Disney World I can, so thought I would give it a try. Disney must have some secret because theirs is the only 3-D I can see!

Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed A Christmas Carol on the IMAX. Hats off to Jim Carrey as Ebenezer Scrooge. He definitely portrayed a great Ebenezer. I think that children, especially the older ones, would enjoy this movie as much as both of us did. The IMAX experience just helped make this movie even grander!!!

This is NOT too scary for most kids. It's just that most parents coddle their children. It mostly follows the book with some exceptions.

This was a great movie. It was a little slow at the beginning, but then it moved. The animation was wonderful, and Jacob Marley was fantastic. I think it would have been better with a narrator. We really needed to heard the beautiful words that Dickens wrote. This movie was scary for children. I think it should have been PG13. There were some 5 and 6 year-olds in the theater actually crying during the scary parts. I didn't like Bob Cratchet narrating at the end. It broke the mood. Just a voice would have been better. But all in all a fun ride.

Yes it's your typical Christmas Carol but the 3D effects take it to a whole new level! I was expecting the screen to be a lot bigger! The screen seemed to be the same size as one in a regular theater. I have been in a Imax and the screen was on the sides. I plan on purchasing this movie when it is available on DVD! My seven year old Nephew was a little scared when the ghost of Christmas Present appeared.

An exciting 3-D treatment of "A Christmas Carol" that didn't stray too far from Dickens original text. The movie's creators obviously did a LOT of research and captured a great deal of the "flavor" of mid-19th century London and it's people, especially for a non-historical/educational film. (Small nitpicking point: I wish the opening dance scenes at Fezziwigs were a bit more realistic, if only to make even better contrast with the purposely supernatural sequences.) I agree with other reviewers in this is NOT for small children (the "departure" of the Ghost of Christmas-Present approaches Freddy Kruger-levels of grisly!), but this IS a truly amazing production.

The 3D was awesome. Jim Carrey was great as well. The story was not for children - the language stuck to the original and was oftentimes difficult for my 9 year old to understand. It was also very dark and full of terrifying scenes which most young children would freak out. (PG, I know). They did a good job with the story and had some nice change ups - like when Scrooge was miniaturized.

The movie was done very well and the 3D was awesome. Highly reccommend taking the family to see it , but i suggest not to take small children as i think it would scare them. my family had a really good time. The story was brought alive by 3D and felt as if we were in the scenes. Jim Carey was excellent as usual. We liked the fact that the movie stayed close to the original story. We are now spoiled and can't wait to see other movies in 3D.

The movie itself was incredible. Awesome graphics, stayed well to the original story line. A little scary, a little funny, and totaly uplifting .Everyone in our group from 9-40 was emmensely impressed. Have to say we went to a theater in a mall (last place we'd be caught usually on Thanksgiving weekend) because we hoped it would be extra cool in Imax 3D vision. Paid too much money, and it was WORTH EVERY PENNY and all the aggravation of holiday shoppers. Wouldn' t see it any other way. Looking forward to Alice in Wonderland and Avatar in Imax 3D.

From the grandparents to the eight year old--everyone enjoyed. Older folks impressed by staying fairly close to the story lines--Christ is Christmas and all he represents. Plus the older ones found specially effects--Great.

Not good for younger children. Bad 3D. Looked too blurred at the beginning and doubled vision very uncomfortable even with the 3D glasses.
