The 3D was awesome. Jim Carrey was great as well. The story was not for children - the language stuck to the original and was oftentimes difficult for my 9 year old to understand. It was also very dark and full of terrifying scenes which most young children would freak out. (PG, I know). They did a good job with the story and had some nice change ups - like when Scrooge was miniaturized.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
