You are being lied to

The possitive reviews for this movie are fake.
And after having read the negative reviews for the book this movie is based on, I see that it's the same case for the book as well.
The characters are ridiculous and the ideal this story is trying to sell you is ridiculous.
I was fooled by the high percentage of reviewer that would suggest this movie to a friend.... and I do, in fact, feel foolish for having spent the time and money to see it. Horrible!
It also makes our world seem all the more a hopeless place that so many would actually read or see such gabage and think it's good or that the ideas are good.
This movie (and the book too) is insulting to anybody who can think.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Wow, I can't believe only half of the people who gave reviews would suggest this movie to a friend!!!
This movie is great. It's about honor, discipline, redemption. It's not just an action movie (although it does have that), it has a deeper story and a few shocking moments as well.
This movie is NOT a snoozer, but to compare it to Troy, or Independance Day for that matter, makes no sense.... They are different genres.
You may be dissappointed if you go to this movie expecting mindless action scene after action scene... this movie takes breaks between the action to tell a very interesting story.
The Justin Beiber crowd will not understand no matter how much it is explained to them....
If you are older then 21 you will like this, and the scenery is big screen worthy as well.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not a let down. Good story, some fast dialog, even faster action..... This is worth seeing.
Imax costs too much, so we saw it on the regular screen.
A great show.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Well made, good story.... great entertainment for the whole family.
The 2D version is good enough and the 3D version, at twice the price, is certainly NOT worth the extra cost.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie, although highlighted by this site, seems to be available for viewing in only one theater in the United States (NYC).
Talk about limited release.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Saw this last night (at a special showing).... It was good. Intense.
The last few seconds of the movie were a bit of a let down.... maybe they could have delayed releasing this to make inprovements.... but the rest of the movie, leading up to these few seconds that might let you down, was really good.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It was fun

I thought that Sherlock Holmes was a fun movie. Kept my interest throughout (although it was just a tad long). The dialog was witty and humorous. The caper was complicated enough and not presented in too complicated a manner, nor was it spoon fed. Well done. Action, intrigue, historical setting (albeit completely fictional characters and capers).... see it, you'll have fun.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Soooo not about aparthied

This movie was not about aparthied... it was just set in that time and place. It was (is) about rugby. "On Any Given Sunday" this is NOT. As if full motion rugby is not confusing enough (or boring enough) this movie shows a lot of rugby plays in s...l...o...w... motion. because of this, the final game takes WAY too long and.... I walked out as soon as I saw the score. This movie does not highlight the history and does little to ilistrate the importance of tolerance (unless you just need to learn to tolerate movies that are way too long for what they are showing).
Rent this for a dollar from a machine at the grocery store if you are having trouble sleeping some night. Otherwise, save your money.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Boring

Super awesome visuals, very slow and boring movie. All the kids in the theater were bored and making noise... non-stop questions because they didn't understand what was going on. I knew the story, and although the 3d was good, the movie was just plain blah.... I didn't care if I saw the next scene. I was happy it ended so we could leave. My 5 and 1/2 year old daughter agreed that it was boring. It was way too expensive too.
See Planet 51 and Fantastic Mr. Fox for the kids.

For the kids, okay.....

My 5 year old liked it.
I found that the only time I said, "Whoah...." from the 3D was during the preview for "Chance of Meetballs".
The glasses seemed a distraction and my daughter didn't want to wear them even though the movie is blury without them.... She liked the movie but this whole 3D craze is too much.... and they are charging too much to see this things.
$32 for 3 of us to see it on a regular size screen? Come on AMC!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
