The movie overall was wonderful! The 3D effects were simply amazing. Sometimes you felt like you were really there. The characters seemed very life like. I thought Disney portrayed the original story wonderfully. It not for little kids though. The characters spoke in Old English and I don't think smaller children would even understand the language. There were also some pretty spooky moments! Awesome overall though!

Disney has outdone itself on such a classic tale. The whole movie is crisp, fast paced, and in depth. I would not take children under the age of 8 (as I did) as they seem to freak out at well portrayed ghost of Christmas past, present and future. Other than that it was great, thanks Disney.

This movie was great. It stuck to the original story line which was nice because we love that version better the some remakes. The 3D made you feel as if you were in the movie with scrooge. My five year old got scared at some points but loved the happy ending!!!! Jim Carry out did him self again!!!!!

Dickens’ classic comes alive with stunning visuals and fantastic detail as live action is combined with animation to make the ghosts as scary as they ever will be. Victorian London is filled with its smoke and smells as we see the hard life of many against the backdrop of the upper crust. Scrooge is treated to fantastic rides above and through his London as the ghosts let him see his life for what it really is. The film cleverly uses its stars to maximum benefit. The filmmakers fuse modern technology and strong performances to bring Dickens’ classic tale to a new audience. It even pays homage to Dickens by using large amounts of his original prose. This is a great time at the movies, especially in IMAX 3D.

I went to see this movie with a friend and we both were knocked over by how scary that this movie is. We anticipated that a typical Jim Carrey movie would be over the top but this went way over. With Jim usually bringing comedy to Disney films like in the Grinch there is very little of that type humor in this flm. It was great film for adults but I am glad that I didn't bring my children they would not have handled it well. They should've made this a PG 13 rating. The 3D effects were incredible but you need to watch it without the effects if you get motion sickness easily. It is very loud which is great if you can handle it.

The story was classic and entertaining throughout. Though, there were some slow spots that may make it a little hard for kids to sit through. There were also some scary parts that might be too scary for really young children. The 3-D was top-notch and so was the voice acting. A very heartfelt and endearing movie.

I was pleased to see the script was very true to the Dickens novel, so much so that nearly all of the dialog was right out of the book -- which made it over the heads of most young children. Also, the opening scene with the ghost of Jacob Marley, and the scenes toward the end with the predictably sinister "Ghost of Christmas Future" were really quite frightening, and again, not for young children (under, say, 9 years old). So parents, be warned, even though this is animated, it's really not for the little ones.

Some of the 3-D effects were dazzling but all the computer generated emotion left me cold. All the magic and wonderment I felt seeing Polar Express in IMAX 3-D was completely absent from this movie. We were with one 4 and one 5 yr old. They were not scared, but both were bored by the end of the movie. I think the dialogue is meant for a more mature crowd. I am, however, really excited to see AVATAR in IMAX 3-D and for the kiddies, How to train your dragon looks promising.

Everyone loved it from a 7 year old to a 50 year old. IMAX 3D is worth the money. You owe it to yourself to watch this one. I'm not a huge Jim Carrey fan but he did fine in this one.

As far as the quality of the movie- effects and IMAX 3D were awesome, but someone had mentioned that the accents were very hard to understand, and that was very true. My husband and I took our 10 year old son and 7 year old daughter, and it literally scared them half to death in a lot of places. I expected frightening scenes because of the 3 ghosts and Marley, but this went beyond that! It was so loud, and combined with the movie was really scary, and unnecessary. I certainly wouldn't call this a family movie to attend if you have young kids. I do, however, think that it was entertaining, and above all enjoyed the movie itself.

I took my 3 children to see this movie opening weekend. My older children seemed to love the movie, but my youngest (8 yr) said the ghosts were a little creepy. The 3D effects were amazing and very well done. I enjoyed the fact that they tried to stay true to the book, as classics are meant to be.

This format is the future of movies. I was really drawn into it. The characters were much more believable than a "normal film movie" because I wasn't thinking about the actors behind them. And the 3-d looks so real.

Good movie, well played out, great for the children, recomend to rent and watch at home. Imax 3D very much over priced, 14.50 per ticket is highway robbery, 15.50 if purchased online. the glasses do not quite fit your face. Other than that I would say it was an experience.

I took my nephew to see it on the IMAX screen in 3D. I thought that the movie was very well done. I love when they try to keep the movie close to the actual book. There are somethings that shouldn't be changed. This is a classic and Disney did a great job. My favorite ghost was Christmas Past! The way he danced around and made his flame flicker was hilarious. My nephew thought it was great especially when the ghost of Christmas Future turned him into a little guy! If you are a true Holiday Lover and are looking for a good flick, this is great for ALL!!

I took my 8 year old son to see this one and he wasn't able to follow a lot of the movie as it seemed geared more toward adults than children. It was fairly slow-moving and there wasn't much to laugh at or get excited over. The story itself is great to hear. But even the accents of each character made it a bit difficult to understand at times for me and especially my son. He wasn't very impressed with it story-wise. It's not very entertaining for children - it's more interesting just to watch the effects in IMAX 3D. Other than that, I probably should have waited for it to come out on DVD and been able to watch it in the comfort of home.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

This was a very good movie to start out the Christmas season. I saw this in 3D and it was great. It is really a move worth seeing.
