This movie is fun to see. The actors are top notch. There are times where it is hard to understand the dialogue due to accents and rapid speech. It does not follow the books, but is a fun watch and sets up a sequel nicely.

This was a highly entertaining and quite humorous movie. I absolutely love the style with which it was done; not to mention the fantastic job done by all of the actors in bringing the characters to life.

The movie was filled with lots of action and adventure, but I wouldn't go to the movies to see it because for one you could barely understand anything that Sherlock Holmes was saying. His accent was strong and at times he was talking too fast. Now it had a good plot but it would have been better if i could have atlease been able to follow what they were saying. Bettter to watch at home so you can put the subtitles on.

This movie was done in good taste. I did not care for the hint of spiritism; but, it proved to be trickery not demonism in the end. It kept us guessing and speculating. The actors did an excellent job of acting too. We got what we paid for.

While I absolutely loved the actors and particularly Robert Downey's & Jude Law's portrayals of Holmes & Watson, the story line didn't hold my attention. Of course it could be that this was the 2nd movie of a double feature that I saw that day and I may have been unintentionally comparing it with the first movie I saw. If I had it to do over I would rather see it when it comes out for home viewing.

I thought this movie was a fun, entertaining break from real life. I also enjoyed the artistry of the scenes. Of course Robert Downey Jr. was great, but I think Jude Cole stole the show. If I had one quibble, it would be that there was a little too much slow mo fight scenes (a couple would have been enough) and not enough of the awesome witty dialogue. It's worth seeing on the big screen.

I was surprised with this new interpretation of Sherlock Holmes(SH), not what I expected at all. This SH is a super hero and the movie was definitely an action/adventure, so if the viewer is expecting to see the traditional and intelectual SH this is not the version to see. Overall the movie is good, great action, cinematography and special effects. My favorite effect was the portrayal of SH speed of thinking in the fighting scenes.

This was great, very fun yet interesting. It had tons of action, lots of comedy, drama and a touch of romance. I didn't want it to end. Some have said the plot was too simple, I disagree I would say it was easy to follow WHAT the main villain was doing but not HOW and there were still surprises until the end. Especially with there being a 2nd villain who was prominent in the original A&E Sherlock shows, so it was a nice touch to bring him into it.

At first I thought 'Sherlock Holmes" was going to be just another mindless action graphics movie. But wait!...about 10 minutes or so in it gets better.
It catches you up in its snappy dialogue, lightning-fast effects, and fascinatingly eerie constructions of Olde London like you've never seen (or imagined) it before.
It pulls in a lot of contemporary references that makes Sherlock Holmes new. You ma y notice some James Bond touches. It's a lark, an adventure, a thriller, and just a touch of deft dark romance.
Plenty of strings left glaringly hanging.
I sense a franchise.

The movie didn't have a good plot... it was the basic method of fear being used to control people. Symbols of Pagan's and Mason's were mixed into each other. There was very little real fantasy, mystery, and zero mysticism. Watching the movie, the plot was obvious to me all the way through and that made it extra boring. The love/flirting relationship was also faint, so not much to be turned on about. The only fun thing was how like in Samurai movies he would pre-calculate how he would beat his opponent in a logical manner though.

I can see where this movie would not be for everyone, but for me it was great. I have not been particularly fond of Guy Ritchie's other films, but after reading an article on SyFy Wire, I decided to give it a try. It's a new take on an old character, but I feel it fits. From what I read, it is based on many things that were referenced in the original books (i.e., Watson was Sherlock's intellectual equal, Sherlock knows a martial art, Sherlock was a prize-fighter, etc.). So because of this, I thought I'd give it a try and I am so glad I did. It was fast-paced, engaging and fun. I would call it a bro-mance movie because the chemistry between Downey and Law was great. Loved the soundtrack too. Fun, fun fun!

I was a little scared of this movie having grown up with the almost purely cerebral Holmes, but this movie was fun and stayed for the most part true to the Holmes of literature. The action was fun and the strong smart Watson was great. Downey was beleivable as a younger Holmes and the interaction with Irene Adler was great.
Let's a hope for a sequel.

As a fan of Sherlock Holmes in novel form, I was afraid of the direction this film took. There is mention in the books of Holmes' ability to analyze an enemy's weak points physically as well as mentally, but the overblown pit fighter image seemed over the top. Fortunately, Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are so absolutely charming as Holmes & Watson that I'm happy to accept an alternate, more physical Holmes. I hope there's a sequel.
