"Did You Hear About the Morgan's?" has limited humor. The on-screen chemistry between Sara Jessica Parker and Hugh Grant is non-existent. After witnessing a Mob crime, two die-hard New Yorkers are placed in a witness protection program. They are flown to a one horse town in Wyoming where there are no Bistros, Cafes, Gourmet shops and definitely no Wall Street. This is what makes up "Did You Hear About the Morgan's?" To say the movie was dry is an understatement. No wonder the movie only did $7 million dollars it's opening weekend.

As others have stated, there was absolutely no chemistry between the two main stars. A very poorly acted movie and a just as poorly written story. The jokes were forced and at times I almost expected to hear a snare drum/cymbal crash after the delivery of some of the punchlines. Unfortunately, only dead silence eminated from the audience. Would definitely not recommend this movie to anyone. You know how sometimes you hear people say "All the funny parts were shown in the trailers"? Well that is especially true for this one. Wait for it to be shown on cable/satellite - not even worth to pay for it as a dvd rental.

The film gave me about what I thought I'd get - a silly story with funny people in crazy situations. Done.
Actually had a few more/better laughs than anticipated and I've recommended this movie to a few folks. If you're a fan of SJP or Grant, you'll enjoy it.

The movie provided what my husband and I wanted; that being entertainment. However, the Hugh Grant character seemed bored and the SJP character never seemed to stop whining! That was really annoying. Grossly miscast movie, that was predictable. There was absolutely no chemistry between the stars and the characters were stereotypical. Adding insult to injury , we paid dearly for the tickets and we had to endure 25 minutes of commercials before the film. At least in commercial TV you can mute the junk or record and ff through it.

This movie was very predictable and didn't leave much to the imagination. I do like Hugh Grant but don't care much for SJ Parker so this movie reinforced that for me once again. I went with my family for Christmas and my husband and I thought it was an ok "feel good" movie - slowing things down and living without technology (oh my!) No swearing/violence was my goal so this movie delivered that, but the kids were bored and now they want to pick next Xmas. Fine for a dvd rental.

The movie was 'alright'. It was too predictable for me, the story line was alright and you could see the plot and the plot's end coming a mile away. Sarah J.P. is not one of my most favorite actresses, but I am always amazed at how sexy her walk is. If her acting was as attractive as her walk, she'd be great. Hugh Grant on the other hand played the ultimate 'girly-man' role that I have witnessed to date. I saw women in the theater getting annoyed at his no spined, no testis role of a forever apologizing kiss-up who actually had the nerve to be upset with his wife for having a physical liaison when they were split (not saying that was right of her, but wasn't it his action of infidelity that possibly spurned the her reaction of the same)!

I had seen the previews for this. Didn't look very promising. As a favor to my wife, I agreed to go along. As much as I enjoy Hugh Grant, this was the same old same old for him as the bumbling English guy who is so charming he can make a woman forgive him for most anything. I found myself laughing twice, and over the course of a very long one hour and forty-three minutes, that's not good. I just wish my popcorn and peanut M&M's had lasted a little longer so I would have had something to make me happy. I get to choose the next one. Sherlock Holmes. Very excited.

If my friend were looking for a predictable, albeit mildly amusing, way to spend almost two hours, I would recommend this film. My wife and I enjoyed the popcorn and the film in that order. Hugh Grant is beginning to wear thin in this self-deprecating role, but still carries it off. Sara Jessica Parker is all "New York", judge that anyway you want.
