Nothing new, not very scary

This film just does not deliver as promised. They should give the person who put together the trailer a bonus because he/she was able to make a rather boring movie look scary and suspenseful. The fact that the filmmaker did create one moment that made me jump made me feel even more let down. He knew what to do, but he just never followed through again. The acting was mediocre and the actors are never really believable as documentary subjects; try as they may, they always sound like they are reading from a script. The woman who played the lead girl's mom was actually very good, but that's it. I would have given this a one, but the production value was decent. A good way to judge if you'll like this or not is how you felt about BLAIR WITCH. If you didn't like that, uou won't like this.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The action, the style, the humor all add up for a thoroughly enjoyable movie experience. Just like Johnny Depp in Pirates, Robert Downey Junior seems to really have a blast playing Sherlock. His mischievous twinkle really makes for a fantastic character who keeps you involved the whole way through. Looking forward to the next!

I have to credit this wonderful cast for treating me to one of the most fantastic ensemble performances of the year. They all are terrific, but especially Liana Liberato who plays Clive Owen and Catherine Keener's daughter. How she can achieve such a nuanced performance at the age of 14 is beyond me. And David Schwimmer has turned into a masterful storyteller. This might be difficult for some to watch because of the heartbreak the film delivers its audience, but there's no rule that says great movies should be easy to watch. Go see TRUST before it leaves theaters.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

What a cast! Everyone is at the top of their game is this film. I found myself laughing, but also moved at the emotional parts of the story. Anyone who's gone through a divorce as a kid will have an even deeper response. Nancy Meyers definitely has hit her stride as a writer/director. And I sure hope Alec Baldwin and Meryl Streep find themselves in a movie together again soon!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Just what I expected

I had seen the previews for this. Didn't look very promising. As a favor to my wife, I agreed to go along. As much as I enjoy Hugh Grant, this was the same old same old for him as the bumbling English guy who is so charming he can make a woman forgive him for most anything. I found myself laughing twice, and over the course of a very long one hour and forty-three minutes, that's not good. I just wish my popcorn and peanut M&M's had lasted a little longer so I would have had something to make me happy. I get to choose the next one. Sherlock Holmes. Very excited.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
