I saw it last saturday and im going to see it again this saturday!!!! It was such an amazing movie! Its a movie that has everything. This epic tale will sweep you off your feet with its wonderful acting by hugh and nicole. They stay so true to the characters and make you feel whatever their feeling. I am notorious for falling asleep in movies, but not once did I ever tire of this spectacular movie. This movie had it all, suspense, action, romance, beautiful scenery, and history. We need more movies like this, that you can take the whole family to see it, and not be uncomfortable. No horrible language, and no visible sex scenes. Jackman & Kidman were so good and believable, as was "Nallah" who was so endearing! Go to see it soon, especially in a big theatre.

Nicole Kidman was as beautiful as ever and really did a great job, so believable in the parts she played growing from a selfish girl to a lovely heart felt woman. Hug Jackman was just hot! He is so sexy and so very good looking that hard to take your eyes off him, and pardon my french but his chest hair... magnetizing. It would not have mattered what part he played, he was great to watch.

I was hesitant to go to a movie almost 3 hrs long but I am glad I did. Australia has a plot that keeps moving and never feels too long. Jackman and Kidman have fantastic chemistry and the supporting cast members are equally strong. The character development is well paced and gives you a good sense of who is who and why. Director Baz Luhrmann gets everything that not only the cast but the setting have to offer. The cinematography is really outstanding, the scenery breathtaking and special effects are excellent. there is never a sense of phony or overdone effects. I truly expect to see Australia up for any number of awards and is very deserving of winning them.

Con: Too long to go without a brief intermission. Even Gone With The Wind had one.

I very much enjoyed this movie. Despite rumors of Nicole Kidman's poor acting, I was impressed with her skills. I have a new found respect for Hugh Jackman as I can only remember him as Wolverine. This movie evoked emotion from me and I definitely became "part of the action".

You know I listened to the critics less than glowing reviews of this film and went to see it for my self. All I can say is WOW! I thoroughly enjoyed it. The acting was phenominal, the story line(s) were tight and well written, and the settings outstanding. My only beef is that it's a bit long, but it never lags or gets dull. The ending was too predictable, formulaic, and like a fairy tale. Baz Luhrmann crammed too much into the last 30 minutes making the film seem even more contrived. The computer graphics were awful, obviously fake, and distracting. Neither Kidman nor Jackman will win an Oscar. The young kid playing the "creamy" (mixed Aborigine/white) could win an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Enough love interest to make the women happy, and enough action to keep the guys awake. Not a must see at the theater, but an OK video rental or pay per view option.

The critics are too hard on this movie. The panoramic views of Australia combined with the acting makes it spectacular.

This movie is a return to movies of the old style, where the substance is more important than the action (although the action seens in this movie are excellent). This movie will probably be nominated for Best Picture. The acting was very good, with Hugh Jackman presenting the best performance I have seen him give.

My wife and I enjoyed the movie very much. She sometimes dozes off during uneventful scenes but not this time. The movie holds your interest, beginning to end.
