Johnny Depp makes the movie. Penelope Cruz was a good addition. This movie did not have as many "special effects", but had a very cool mermaid scene. Ian McShane (Deadwood) is a great Blackbeard. Worth your while seeing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

True to genres

After all this movie was described as "Genres: Comedy, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Thriller and Adaptation".
It was all of the above. I thought this was a good change for Liev Shrieber as he convincingly portrayed a sarcastic and hard nose corporate mogul. Forrest Whitaker and Jude Law were both edgy and ruthlessly skilled repo men. The only part that made me cringe was when Remy and Beth performed their own self reclaiming of their artificial body parts. I did not see the plot twist at the end coming!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great movie, keeps you guessing. I like it when I can't figure out the ending....or when I think I have, it all changes. One of Leonardo's best movies.

Bleak future

This movie was heart wrenching and riveting at the same time. It's a very emotional movie that I would hate to believe depicts the future of the world. It is realistic and very frightening. Viggo Mortensen's performance is excellent. He completely gets into his character. He keeps you watching the movie even though there are times you can't bear to.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I was worried the movie was going to be long. But, after the first 20 minutes the time went by quickly. Johnny Depp is a very good actor. He really immerses himself into the character. Christian Bale as usual is very intense and believable. Good period piece and worth seeing.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Mostly Funny

This mostly funny movie did have a lot of "toilet humor". Definitely for the 20-30 age group. There were some genuine belly laughs that kept you going for a good long time. Could have given more screen time to Heather Graham. Acting chemistry was very good among cast. Stay to the very end, you'll see some "snapshots" of things that will definitely stick in your mind.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I very much enjoyed this movie. Despite rumors of Nicole Kidman's poor acting, I was impressed with her skills. I have a new found respect for Hugh Jackman as I can only remember him as Wolverine. This movie evoked emotion from me and I definitely became "part of the action".
Yes, I recommend this movie.
