Australia a true epic

I was hesitant to go to a movie almost 3 hrs long but I am glad I did. Australia has a plot that keeps moving and never feels too long. Jackman and Kidman have fantastic chemistry and the supporting cast members are equally strong. The character development is well paced and gives you a good sense of who is who and why. Director Baz Luhrmann gets everything that not only the cast but the setting have to offer. The cinematography is really outstanding, the scenery breathtaking and special effects are excellent. there is never a sense of phony or overdone effects. I truly expect to see Australia up for any number of awards and is very deserving of winning them.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Leatherheads worth seeing

This movie was about what I expected it to be. No great epic but a film that will get some laughs out of you. Parts of the film were shot in my hometown of Greensboro, NC and it was fun seeing some familiar places. The acting was generally good and the characters pretty believable. The downside of the movie was the poor chemistry between George Clooney and Rene Zellweger. I thought they were really miscast and I was having a very hard time feeling any chemistry between them. To be honest, renoving her from the film wouldn't have taken away a thing from the film. Don't get me wrong, I think she is attractive and talented. She just didn't to fit in to the overall plot and this plot didn't need an attractive newspaper writer to thicken it. Krasinski was fair but needs to find a way to not be the "nice guy" all the time. Find some emotion behind the boyish grin and there may be a real actor in there,
Yes, I recommend this movie.
