I had aleardy seen the standard TDK in theaters more than once, but when I heard that the IMAX version was being re-released, I felt like taking one last ride. I'm very glad that I did, because this was a lot of fun. The bigger screen helps to immerse the audience in the story, and I saw several things more vividly than I had in the standard version. It was also louder than the standard version; the floor was shaking with each shotgun blast and every explosion. I think if you love TDK, and want to give it a sendoff to compensate for the Oscar snub, go see it in IMAX while you still can!

The movie was amazing. the picture was crystal the sound was bone rattling, we got free popcorn because the I MAX projector was having problems. It made one of the best movies i've seen in a long time about 3X better. But watching this movie in such perfection, brings deep sadness to the fact that ledger will never act again. We agreed that seeing this movie in IMAX has spoiled us. I think regular movies will be boreing after this. The special effects are incredible. We have seen the movie twice before, once at home and once at a theater and this was nothing like what we had seen. The sound system is unbelieveable and adds a tremendous amount to the experience.

This should have won for Best Picture of 2008 - it is only the genre prejudice of the Academy that prevented it from being this. This is the fourth time I've seen this film, and every time it just gets better. I noticed subtleties this time around that I hadn't before. The storytelling is detailed and meaningful - the scriptwriters have honed their craft, and it shows. The direction is exciting and realistic. The acting, of course, is stellar - for everyone. All in all, truly the best film of the year, and one that has changed everything for superhero films forever. This is what superhero stories should be like - inspiring, thought-provoking, exciting, and fun.

Kudos to Nolan and his wonderful actors and staff. All of the positive superlatives you have no doubt already heard apply here. It is very difficult to see any movie with such high expectations and leave the theater in awe knowing that the film exceeded those expectations! This review is being written almost 5 months from when I first saw it opening day in IMAX and I have since seen The Dark Knight 4 more times - each time at a theater with unique configurations. Each viewing just got better! This is the standard now - not only for superhero movies - but for any movie that overlaps the genre. Evolutionary!

I was unable to get to the IMAX to see the Dark Knight. I really wished I did go. I bet it was amazing. The movie was intense, exciting and thrilling. If it is still in IMAX by you go see it. It is well worth the extra bucks. Heath did an amazing job as the Joker. Bale was a wonderful brooding Batman. I love this movie!!! If you have Blu Ray ability this is the one to buy.

I've seen this film in both regular and IMAX projections, and if you enjoyed it in regular, you owe it to yourself to spend the extra effort/money to see it in IMAX. It is an immersive, awesome movie-going experience that cannot be replicated any other way. The sound is loud, the picture is gorgeous, it's everything seeing an epic film in a theater should be. The changes to the IMAX-size image aren't jarring, but you feel more connected to the picture every time it expands.
I certainly hope that besides the January Oscar push, that they decide to re-release this film every few years in IMAX, because I (and many others, I'm sure) will never tire of that experience.

This was a phenomenal movie. All the hype about Heathh Ledger in this movie still did not do him any justice. He played a fantastic role, it's a shame we won't get to see him again. The whole cast was great, and Christian Bale was once again the best Batman that has been on the big screen. I suggest everyone catch it in IMAX before it's gone.

Take a great director (Nolan), a great cast (Bale, Ledger, Oldman, etc.), a fairly solid script, some terrific CGI & stunts -- and watch it in the eye-popping IMAX format with a print made directly off the camera negative and you have one terrific cinematic experience. I was glad I waited to see The Dark Knight in the Imax format -- this is one movie that really benefits from the super screen format. If you haven't seen it in Imax, you really haven't seen it at all.

I watched it 3 times. 1st time = ArcLight in Hollywood 2nd time = IMAX 3rd time = IMAX
3rd time was the best since we got the best seat in the house. 2nd row from the back, right in the middle. It really changed the experience as far as sounds, music and picture.
I highly recommend it watching at IMAX, but make sure you get good seats.

I had already seen this movie three prior times in various theaters - none in IMax until my fourth veiwing. It was INCREDIBLE! The scene where Batman is standing on the Chinese tower looking down over the city, and Nolan pans the camera up and away - always fixed on Batman, always moving - made me gasp in awe. I felt like I was literally above Batman looking down, and the view was incredible!

The movie was great! I had watched it when it came out and it was good. Then watched it in IMAX, and it was so much better, you really catch on to little tidbits you may have missed the first time! And I love Batman, but had lost just a tiny bit of interest after so many different versions, and although I love Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger was perfect in interpretting The Joker! He was awesome! I also liked Maggie Gyllenhaals interpretation of Rachel better than Katie Holmes. I strongly recommend this movie, and trust me, I am so not good at recommending movies!! WATCH IT!!

I've been to most of the theaters in LA having grown up here, and it's hard for me to overlook even little things- scratches on the fillm, really loud reel changes, cellphones blaring. They all take me out of the movie and back into the theater, and usually make me wish I was watching a dvd at home.
The Dark Knight in IMAX is everything I would want out of the theater experience. Perfect picture, sound, and even the lack of ads in the beginning made the whole thing fun again for me. Thanks Bridge! I would want to see it again, and heartily recommend to anyone new to this.

I was not really a Batman fan, however I seen this due to all of the excellent reviews. I was not disappointed..this movie is excellent and keeps your intrest thru the whole movie. The Joker was the most impressive role and Heath played this with the most amazing ability I have ever seen. Go see this, you will enjoy yourself beyond your belief.

This is the Batman I've longed to see after years of reading The Long Halloween, Dark Victory, The Dark Knight Returns and other titles of the Batman. The movie has a great blend of masterful acting (not a bad performance in the bunch), a solid crime-drama script, a subtle yet fully effective score, and great shots - both in the action and narrative scenes. I agree - not the best movie ever made, but it's the best I've seen this year. It's also a bit too dark for younger kids/pre-teens too - I'd recommend taking older teens at the minimum, perhaps older than 13 despite the rating.

IMAX is truly incredible for this must-see film. Acting, effects, script, directing, sound are best in years. Well worth the extra cash to see this. Uplifting, suspenseful, dramatic, non stop action is just what one needs in this economy to "take one away" from it all for a few hours.

Not "the best film ever made"...but one of the best plots for this genre in years!!!!!!!!!!!! The Joker was especially on top of his game...lots of mind****ing going on in this one. Loved the snyde comments and physical 'ticks' that Heath Ledger gave the character. A simply amazing, exhausting performance by Ledger, worthy of all the accolades within the biz that he will probably get. I hope people don't belittle his nominations and possible wins due to his having died before the release. His really was a Master Performance as The Joker. Glad I spent the extra $$ on the IMAX screen for this one. I'll have to do it again soon...I missed a few smart a s s remarks by The Joker!

I had no idea that Batman had the respect of a boss, the shwagga of pimp, and that cash like a Trump. All I can say is that I wanted to get up and cheer and scream after the movie was over! & I went back to see it again!

I am not sure where to even start with this movie. Easily the best film ever made of the superhero genre. Ledger's performance as the Joker will never be topped. The dialogue is top notch, especially Joker's lines were so profound that the psychological battle he wages against Batman and all of Gotham really what makes this film amazing. Watching it in an IMAX theater made a lot of the action scene even more powerful as I felt right in the action of it all. Nolan did a masterful job at directing this movie. At 2 and half hours it sounds long but its so packed that you hardly notice the time pass and left wanting for more at the end.
