I usually greatly enjoy any Will Smith movie, however this movie took so long to develop that I found myself bored and wishing it would just hurry up and get to the point. I was able to predict the ending about a fourth of the way through the movie. Save your money and wait for it to come out on DVD.

My husband & I saw this movie, we both felt the same way, the movie was slow, however it did keep you engaged till the end. The plot of this movie really makes you stop and take a deep look at your life and the people in it. Will Smith did a great job portraying "Ben" and his role as this character was very believable, sad and inspiring.

This movie was amazing! I thought I was gonna burst out crying but I fought back the tears. You're kind of lost at first, but the ending brings it all together. Will Smith and Rosario Dawson did an excellent job in putting emotion into this movie.

Movie of the Year, Oscar Award performances. Will Smith was exceptional in his acting for this movie. He showed his ability to really translate deep feelings of emotions that we all experience in our lifetime. I can still see his facial expressions that we use when words are not enough. Thank you Mr. Smith for such a wonderful experience. And Ms. Dawson truly lived up to her role and I don't think another actress would have been able to match her performance. Woody Harrelson's subdued character was a example of what we wish every person possessed. Kindness. One question. Is 7 pounds equal to the weight of a heart?

I liked that it took a long time to develop the movie. It makes more of an impact when it all comes together toward the end. In my opinion, Will Smith portrayed the character very well, and really expanded his range (outside of his usual roles). Excellent movie, my husband and I enjoyed it!

This movie is outstanding. Most will say this movie is predictable but that's not the point. The point is with it being somewhat predictable it leaves the viewers wondering just how will their prediction play out? This is what it did to me and my girlfriend. We were blown away by Will's performance and if you like action packed Will than don't see this movie because it isn't for you. But if you're into seeing serious true actor Will than this movie is a must see. Definitely an Oscar Award Winning Performance.

Will Smith is a tour de force. Even from the smallest of gestures, he has tremendous acting talent. Although the movie started off a tad bit disjointed, it all came together to provide a very thought provoking cinematic experience. My only criticism was the inclusion of the supposed battered woman recipient in the story line. I walked away thinking that included with her 'gift' of his home, should have been a prohibition that she NOT move the batterer in there with her and her kids. One got the feeling that it wasn't going to change her life, only her locale. But, on the whole, I thought it was a very good movie.

This movie is abosultely BORING! I was trying to keep an open mind but the plot just took forever to develop and I didn't know if to walk out or to stay. I decided to stay to the end as I felt I had investing some time and hoped it would be worth the stay. BIG MISTAKE! This movie is so dissapointing. The begining of the movie is a bit confusing, but you just have to go along for the whole ride to get the full effect of this very interesting movie.
This is definatly not a holiday happy movie, but on the other hand, it is a very serious movie about giving. Overall I found it to be a very powerful experience, well worth the price of admission. P. S. Take pleanty of Kleenex, its pretty rough when the popcorn salt on your napkin gets in your wife's eyes!

Even though the movie was slow to develop, once it got going it was worth waiting for the story line and unexpected ending. Will Smith has another A-1 performance. I will say, though I knew the "idea" of the movie from the trailer reviews, the ending is different than I anticipated or thought. Totally unexpected. Will Smith was brilliant in this movie. He had to be because it was a little slow toward the middle of the movie. It all comes together at the end of the movie. Overall, the movie was good. I heard that I needed to bring the kleenex, so I felt a little prepared to shed some tears. Will Smith has not disappointed me yet. He carried a so-so script and made the movie better than if another actor had played the part. His co-star, Rosario Dawson was terrific. The movie was nicely pieced together, but seemed a little slow here and there. The key is to allow yourselft to relax and be patient for the full plot to unravel. In the end, I was happy to spend two hours watching this movie.

Great acting, story and ending. I went into the movie with very high expectations and everyone of them were met. It has been a long time since i've been to the movies and been completely satisfied. I liked it. Sad story. Very inspiring. I never expected to be this kind of movie but coming from the same producer of "The pursue of hapiness" you could have expected it. Recommended movie for the family.

Although I enjoyed the movie a lot, I had to ask an usher as I was leaving what the title had to do with the story...I got it that there were 7 recipients, but still couldn't connect the seven pounds.
The usher gave a plausible explanation, but I still left the theatre thinking, "Seven pounds of WHAT?"

We went to see this movie without knowing exactly what it was about. I was confused at first, but slowly began to see what was going on. I laughed. I cried. A very moving story about redemption and the purpose of our lives. Plan on taking a friend to see it.

This movie made me incredibly thankful for the basic gift we take for granted: life. I was so surprised that he could play a character with so much depth. Although I am a person with a cynical nature, this movie brought me to tears. It is definitely DVD worthy

With the exception of the last ten or fifteen minutes of this movie it was very much like watching paint dry. Will smith's character is pathetic throughout the movie and it is a challenge to relate to him on any level other than that of a guilty weak minded person. The love story that develops reads more like a female special ed teacher falling in love with her mature but mentally challenged student (will smith).
We both would have walked out of the theater but we kept hoping that there was at least an ending that would make an attempt at redeeming itself.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
