For all the X-Men fans this was a great movie. I hope they keep explaining how the rest of the mutants came to be. Hopefully, the same actors play the rest of the characters. Very entertaining!!

The movie had some nice camera effects when they were showing the various wars. The storyline only had one twist. They didn't do a great job at connecting you with the characters so you'd feel some loss for the one that sets logan on his path. This is likely due to how short the movie is. The plot could have definitely benefited from an increased running time.
As an aside, Wade made the movie a bit too campy.
In all, the movie ended up being decent action. Just don't expect a good storyline to pull you in. I'd recommend this as a rental.

I am a huge fan of the X-Men series... and the comic books, too. However, this storyline of how Wolverine came to be just didn't seem like the story was done justice. The character development was very poor in my opinion. There was such potential for this movie to shine and shed some real, genuine light on Logan ... but I felt no real development. It was a poor attempt.
X-Men Fans... just wait until the DVD release or its release on TV. It's not worth the $ of the theater to be this disappointed.

It did real well following the comic stories. I like how it addressed some of the other characters. It could have went a little further into the others mutants backgrounds, just so we could see where they came from. All in all, I enjoyed it, and look forward to the next one.

I DEFINITELY disagree with all the naysayers on this movie: I LOVED this movie!! It was exciting, & held my attention all the way thru to the end, which is not what I expected--I actually thought I'd be bored with this movie, but I was PLEASANTLY surprised.
The special effects & stunts were REALLY COOL. And Hugh Jackman did an outstanding job as the lead character.One reviewer said that everyone in this movie is related to each other, which is NOT TRUE--that's an exaggeration, so don't pay any attention to the negative reviewers. Go see this movie & make your own judgment. I WANT TO GO SEE THIS MOVIE AGAIN!!

I also am a huge X-Men fan... granted some liberties will be taken while making these films, but all-in-all, an entertaining movie. I enjoyed it! However, I would have loved for the movie to have been longer... possibly divulging more from each character, rather than practically just having "cameos".
Brilliant special effects, and the fight sequences were amazing! HUGE Gambit fan here... again, would have LOVED to have seen more from him... but I'm sure there will be more movies in the future. His scenes, phenomenal! Storyline was great... and again, a very entertaining film.... just.... wish it wouldn't have ended.... at all! :-)

It's an ok movie. Was it worth the $10 for the ticket???? Maybe. Easily my least favorite of the X-Men movies. After missing the sceens in the credits on the last movie. This time I stayed until the house lights came up. There were sceens during and after the credits, but they didn't really seem important to me. There are some really cool special effects in the movie; however, there are also a few sceens where they missed the mark. There was one sceen at the end that where the effects were very poorly done. I do have to say that the eye candy with Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds was very nice. It would have been nice if they had kept Reynolds character from the first part of the movie thought.

Marvel has done a good job lately with their movie franchises and Wolverine is no exception. This film fits well with the tone of both Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. It's a fun ride, the action scenes are good and the performances are solid.
Wolverine isn't going to enlighten you, or educate you, but it will entertain you.

It wasn't up in the Dark Knight or Iron Man catagory of superhero movies, but it was action packed and entertaining. It filled in some holes left from the X-Men franchise and Hugh Jackman remains solid in his role as Wolverine. A good supporting cast and a good plot make this movie a good one to start the summer off on.

This did not disappoint one bit! I have read reviews that it was not up to par, but it was action packed, edge of my chair, heart pounding, and tear jerking at the same time! You MUST stay until the very end, after the credits, or you will miss out! I loved every minute of it - and this was how we celebrated my birthday!!!

Very well made technically, with the exception of a few shaky composite shots. Good balance of action and narrative. One big fault: more senseless killing of likeable characters than in any previous X men film. Wolverine himself was also more vengeful, to the point of becoming downright bloodthirsty. The memory loss in the end was a bit of a convenient way to rectify this disconnect with the other movies. The film could have progressed just fine without the senseless violence. Can't see why so many producers and writers feel it necessary.

This was a great way to start off the season of Big Dumb Popcorn Movies. Not being a comic book fan, I was not going into this film with a lot of preconceived notions of what the story was about, or how the characters should be portrayed. Unburdened by expectations, I was not disappointed. Loud, action packed and a surprising amount of heart, Wolverine delivered on all levels. I have enjoyed the recent trend in Hollywood of making films that explain the backstory on popular franchises. This one was not a disappointment.

This is a terrible movie. It's not offensively bad like Daredevil, but it's still really bad. The writing, acting, directing and even special effects are all lazily done. No one's trying here... they're just cashing in a quick check from kids who don't know better and comic book apologists who can't admit they know better. Just wait for Star Trek next weekend... seriously.

I loved this movie!!! I plan to see it again with friends/family. When I initially saw the preview months ago, I waited in anticipation of again viewing what would be done with The Wolverine character from the X-Men films that I love so much. I am definitely looking forward to sequels of this film! It was very well done; intriguing, action-packed from start to finish, and it left me wanting more! The true mark of a great film. I hope that in the sequels to come, the other characters that we all remember from the X-Men are also further developed to be added to this new beginning.

It was an engaging and thrilling movie. I was very entertained. Hugh Jackman was like Clint Eastwood with special powers. I wish it were an hour longer because it was so fun. On the downside there were a few moments int he plot which I felt were weak but hey it's a comic book.

This is a hard call. If you are a true fan then you will respect the fact that they tried to shed light on Wolverine's past but they made him and others way too soft. You have to put into context that he is a victim of brainwashing and his life was more tragic and darker than the movie portrayed. To truly do a real fan justice, this should have been twice as dark as "The Dark Knight." It should have been close to 3 hours just to do the characters justice and possibly received an R rating.
One would have to respect that they are trying to show Wolverine to a new generation but they made him so shallow.
At the end of the day, everyone needs to see it for themselves to form their own opinion so go and see it.

My wife and I expected a lot of action and special effects and that's what we got!! The story was good and the fight scenes were exciting. We loved the conflict between the brothers. As good as the other movies in the series. We took it for what it was....great action movie for a Saturday night.

Wolverine is one of the most complex of the X Men squad. He's no do-gooder yet he's compelled to have mercy, he's no team player yet thrown (at times literally) into joining an ensemble; all while battling to respond with either his homebody gentle nature or 'wolverine' aggression. It takes him twice as long to make a decision when it's go-time as if he needs to pass 4-5 check points before acting. This might be Jackman's own take but in this film Wolverine seems esp. slow. Hood's laborious attn to peripheral mat. (i.e. battle scene memories and cookie baking geriatrics) instead of plot dev. (i.e. who was the real father, relationship w/Sabertooth etc.) and a generic film score by Williams produced a very lean Jackman but lackluster film.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine departs from the previous movies in the series to focus in-depth on the backstory of one character, rather than casually touching on a multitude of characters. Of course, other characters are present and there is the continuing good mutants vs. bad mutants story, but overall I felt this drew me in and got me more vested in Wolverine as a character. I hope they do an Origins movie on Professor X next!

I really enjoyed the movie and the action. The only problem I had was the intro of so many great characters from the comics and barely a backstory. The ending after the credits also hurt the continuum of the story and did not make any since.

I know marvel is just trying to give fans what they want. But there were TOO many mutants, too many stroylines, too much of everything going on here. Evertyhing that was wrong with X3 is times ten here, and little of what was good about any of the other great marvel movies (Spider Man 1&2, Iron Man, X2, etc) was present.

I thought is was so much better than the last X-MEN flick. Jackman is the perfect Wolverine. 4 out of 5 stars for me. Can't wait for it to come out on blueray.

The movie a little slow to get things going at first, but it was well worth it for the ending. It was heavy on action and lacking enough story, but I'm glad I went to see it. You could tell it had a different feel from the other movies.

I see Hugh and the writers know their English grammar ... "Look what the cat dragged in." (instead of "look what the cat drug in.")
A good love story but not the blockbuster I was anticipating. Some of the music was novel, and it wasn't drawn out in a long movie like Watchmen.

This was definitely the worst of the X-Men series (so far). I am a big fan of Hugh Jackman, but outside of the close-up shots of his angry face and his perfect bod, this was a waste of time. Pointless plot and boring fight scenes. And how could the colonel be so sure that if Wolverine is shot in the head he would lose his memory? Hope they do better in the next installment.
