The dialog was slow. The main human character was SO annoying - I get that he is South African and has a distinct accent but SERIOUSLY? It was grating in my head. The plot line was SOOOOOO unbearable because it took so long to develop. Of course, in true Hollywood fashion, the end was conceived with a sequel in mind. Horrible.
The one thing I would say that is positive, though, is that the movie was unique. However, it was underdeveloped. It could have used another... 2 or 3 editing passes before filming. It just didn't seem like the ideas were well-thought out.
This movie lives up to the hype. But you have to be the type that enjoys watching people get themselves into really screwed up situations. The beauty of this comedy lies in the cast... it was just the best chemistry EVER!
I think the guy that played Allen was freaking hilarious, though I'm not sure how he was convinced to ever make it look like he was jacking off a baby!... hahahhaha..
Too many moments in the movie were hilarious to count - but THE END made it all worth it! You HAVE to go see this. Go with people that you know have an awesome sense of humor... you'll be quoting the movie for hours after it's done!
So many points in this movie showed progress, all to land flat on its face every single time. The actors were for the most part just okay. Exceptional actors were the psychic and shauna san dena characters. It just wasn't even a well-done ending. How sad.
The female lead was just so... over the top that it just wasn't a good fit for her here with Justin Long as her love interest. He just isn't good as the chauvinist-know-it-all academic type. He's better as the goofy, lovable, silly happy go lucky guy.
At least I didn't watch this at the full-price theaters. Still...
Kudos to the writing team for this latest installment of Terminator. Christian Bale is a far better John Connor than he was Batman. Some really great acting was presented by the supporting cast, especially Sam Worthington. WOW. The storyline was easy to follow, not complicated, and the twist - though predictable about Markus being the T800 - was quite good (the signal thought to "shut down" the machines actually attracting them!!!! and the fact that Markus was the infiltrator) was awesome. Love the way the movie ended, leaving room for the next installment! WATCH IT! It's GREAT.
IMAX was great, but the screen was far too small to deliver the effects that would have been done justice had the screen been twice as wide. When are people going to realize that if you're going to do a remake of a classic, you have to stay true to the characters. You don't have the liberty or luxury to "be inspired" and change the storyline. It's already been told, already been shared. You just can't change the storyline for a new generation to appreciate.
I'm sick of remakes. If you want something new, COME UP WITH A NEW, ORIGINAL IDEA to make a movie from. Stop changing the originals. Ridiculous.
I enjoyed the book tremendously but knew from the previews to the movie that it wasn't going to be like the book. With that in my mind, I was open for anything to be presented on screen. Let me tell you, it didn't disappoint. Sure, a few details left me wanting more explanation, but the movie was well presented and gave me new found respect for the visionary that is Dan Brown. He inspired this greatness! go antimatter!
I am a huge fan of the X-Men series... and the comic books, too. However, this storyline of how Wolverine came to be just didn't seem like the story was done justice. The character development was very poor in my opinion. There was such potential for this movie to shine and shed some real, genuine light on Logan ... but I felt no real development. It was a poor attempt.
X-Men Fans... just wait until the DVD release or its release on TV. It's not worth the $ of the theater to be this disappointed.
Jamie Foxx was awesome in his role as Nathaniel Ayers. The depth of his character, a schizophrenic virtuoso, tested his acting range - and I think he succeeded greatly. I would be surprised if he didn't receive an Academy Award nomination for this performance. Robert Downey, Jr. was fantastic, too, but his performance was not as moving as was Jamie Foxx's. I read Steve Lopez's column in the LA Times; I just don't picture him the way Robert Downey, Jr. portrayed him.
The storyline was interesting but it wasn't delivered in the way I expected. Many parts of the movie dragged on and on... it could have been presented in a way that didn't drag on.
How predictable to do a Fatal Attraction remake in 2009...calling it new because the protagonists are black and the evil one is white. 2009 is the year of the remake or cover... And this movie is definitely in that theme. Save the money and watch this on yourcable service in 6 months. Not worth full admission to watch Beyonce try to play ghetto at the end of the movie. Ali Larter was more annoying than scary. Jerry O'Connell was goofy in his sidekick role. Plot was just not well developed. Don't waste your $$$$! Go see Soloist instead.
