This is a hard call. If you are a true fan then you will respect the fact that they tried to shed light on Wolverine's past but they made him and others way too soft. You have to put into context that he is a victim of brainwashing and his life was more tragic and darker than the movie portrayed. To truly do a real fan justice, this should have been twice as dark as "The Dark Knight." It should have been close to 3 hours just to do the characters justice and possibly received an R rating.
One would have to respect that they are trying to show Wolverine to a new generation but they made him so shallow.
At the end of the day, everyone needs to see it for themselves to form their own opinion so go and see it.
