This is a delightful summer movie! Entertaining, funny and just plain fun. Pierce Brosnan cannot sing, but other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed the music, the scenery and the story line.

I took my 10 yr old cousin to see this film last night and even though it was absolutely appropriate, I believe this movie is fully directed to women in thier 20's and older. She was bored out of her mind! Ok, now for myself... as excited as I was, i'd suggest going in with an open mind for I believed it was going to be spectacular. Well, it got a 9 by me... in the cheese factor. BUT___ it was a good movie!!! Seeing and hearing some of the cast sing and dance made me fall out of my seat laughing, but I wouldn't have wanted the cast any other way. Go to see it, it really makes you want to have been living through the characters and you DO leave with a smile. Just go with with the flow on this one and you'll be drawn in

If you don't like ABBA, don't bother. This is a faithful adaptation of the stage show and as much fun or better. It's silly, it's kind of dopey, it's mindless. Just relax and have a great time. Streep, Baranski and Walters are great. The guys are having a good time. Amanda Seyfried has a very nice voice and Dominic Cooper is adorable. The greek island they filmed on ain't bad either.

This was just the summer movie I'd been waiting to see. Great music, story, dancing. Loved all the actors in the movie. Sam's less than perfect singing voice only added to his charm. I saw it with my girlfriends who loved it too. We could have sat through it twice. Next time we see, we'll sit on the back row so we can stand up and dance along. Great job! More movies like this please.

I really enjoyed all the music in the movie. Meryl Streep has a beautiful voice. Pierce needed some more singing lessons. I loved Colin Firth too. Overall a great movie. Only thing I noticed is how old Meryl looks...she needed more makeup.

Just saw it yesterday with my kids and grandkids.....EVERYONE loved it. The vocals aren't fantastic, but it doesn't detract from the movie at all. The scenery is absolutely stunning, and the actors fit their roles perfectly. All I can say is MAMMA MIA what a great show!

This is a campy, but fun, movie. The stars cannot really sing. I almost laughed every time Pierce Brosnan started singing. It is enjoyable, however. Be aware that there is a lot of sexual innuendo and inappropriate stuff for younger viewers. But, if you are 2 adults who grew up in the 70's, you probably will like the movie. No real swearing is a big plus in a world where 4 letter words are so common even in the most mundane movies.

WOW! My daughter and I saw the Play last year and feel in love with it. But the Movie brings everything right up close and personal. It's like you are right there on the island with everyone. The music is even better than ever. Meryl Streep is a great Donna and does a wonderful job of making you laugh and then when she's talking to Sophie before the wedding I was in tears, it makes you really think about how fast our kids grow up. Pierce Broson is a great Sam. It was also nice to see the guys of ABBA had a hand in the movie. It was a great movie to share with my 14 year old daughter. She loved it too. I highly recommend MAMMA MIA to everyone. Take your dughter, sister or a friend and spend a couple of hours laughing, crying and watching a great movie.

Thoroughly delightful. I enjoyed so much I saw it twice w/in 24 hours. The scenery is excellent. The movie includes tons of segments that are straight out of the play. The voices are not michael crawford (except maybe Amanda's - Meryl is good) - but the actors present the characters excellently. I love the diversity of the casting from Meryl Streep to Collin Firth to Christine Baranski, to Julie Walters, to Pierce Brosnan, to Stellan, Skarsgard. Make sure you stay through the first part of the ending credits.

This is definitely a chick flick...but having been dragged to it, i thought it was absolutely excellent! I never saw the play, but having watched the movie, i would guess that the play was a masterpiece too. The musical part of it was interwoven with smooth sparkle, and the actual singing? a knockout!...especially Meryl Streep but the others did really good also (and I give brave Brosnan a complete pardon just for staying in key!) :P And those ABBA songs were the real deal! It had plenty of witty innuendos, giving good humor, and was at the same time quite moving. The emotion and exuberance throughout the whole movie shows that the cast must have had an absolute ball making it!

This movie was excellent, and follows the broadway show very well. Normally I see a movie in a theater once, but so far I've seen it twice and have a planned third viewing with even more friends next Friday. While Pierce Brosnan's singing is less than desirable, I can over look it. I was even pleasantly surprised by the "Encore" numbers that were tossed into the credits just like the play.

I couldn' wait to see the film, after seeing interviews with Streep, Brosnan, etc. - they looked like they had a ball making the film. They did, and it shows. A little slow to start, but once it gets going, it never stops. Brosnan can't sing, but he and Streep are so perfect together - real attraction. BEAUTIFUL to have it in Greece - much better than a stage set representing Greece. Can't wait to go again - and then own the film. Dance, Dance, Dance!!!!

I cannot believe how horrible this film was. I was tempted several times to walk out - even after spending $10 on the ticket. I keep thinking that it would get better, but to no avail. Meryl Streep should be ashamed and not sing ever again, even in the shower. So sad that such a fun play was so utterly destroyed going to a movie! If I could give a "No Stars" rating, I would.

Really enjoyed it. Meryl was great. Pierce was not. There are many men who can sing and act who would have been more appropriate. I think that all of the older generation were too old. Meryl would have been in her mid 30's when she had Sophie, not the young thing she was portrayed to be. I would have cast it differently, but the story is fun, and they did some great things with it.

If you are going to hear a musical, you will be disappointed. it's fun and slightly entertaining, but the singing ( except from the young female lead) is just about as good as a high school production. Stars bring in the viewers but they can't carry a tune. Great singers wouldn't fill the seats, but it would have been more enjoyable. I say rent it with friends and some drinks and you will have a fun time.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Loved it! Fun, uplifting. Funny & fresh. Thank you for making a movie that makes people happy. Makes you want to sing along. This was the first movie I've been to in a long time that the audience applauded in the middle of the movie.

This movie was fun, energetic and unexpected. Ok, so some people should not sing, but you overlook that because it isn't about having perfect pitches or dancing... It's about a beautiful story. The girl that plays the daughter has one of the most AMAZING voices I have ever heard. The cast selected was wonderful. I went and saw it with my 10 year old daughter and other family members ranging in age 10-85 and EVERYONE loved it and was singing in their seats! GO SEE IT!
