I really enjoyed this movie from start to finish! The beginning is a little slow, as it probably should be, but aptly builds quickly into a masterpiece of adventure.. Whenever a movie gets huge in 5 stars, I list the reviews from the teeny 1 stars and brace for comedy. I just can't help it.. :) Some people are just 2 funny... There's always a few people that just get toooo serious. 'Avatar' is a beautiful artistic blend of 3d special effects, magical moments, and passionate creativity, and a well thought out plot to weave it all together. It has 'some' predictability, but if u allow yourself to be taken in by it all, u won't be looking at ur watch, or thinking about the things u can predict!
This is definitely a chick flick...but having been dragged to it, i thought it was absolutely excellent! I never saw the play, but having watched the movie, i would guess that the play was a masterpiece too. The musical part of it was interwoven with smooth sparkle, and the actual singing? a knockout!...especially Meryl Streep but the others did really good also (and I give brave Brosnan a complete pardon just for staying in key!) :P And those ABBA songs were the real deal! It had plenty of witty innuendos, giving good humor, and was at the same time quite moving. The emotion and exuberance throughout the whole movie shows that the cast must have had an absolute ball making it!
The cast did well together to deliver excellent action, and a fairly smooth plot with a nice unique twist in it! I found Jolie to be hot as usual (and yes, def a little more nudity next time pls), and i agree with another review for the rather workable character of the the "not so tough" hero choice. For those who have limits as to how harsh or "in your face" a movie can get (like me), i fould this one to linger at the border line and be quite entertaining. I don't think i will see it again, but the first time through is a must for special effects or odd plot seekers. (i don't always give the most common view of a movie by the way, hehe)
