I would give this movie about 7 out of 10. There were about 3 or 4 scenes that made me squirm in the presence of my 13-year old daughter (and I'm sure she was mortified as well), because there was pretty crass dialogue and situations, and they really didn't add anything to the movie. Just for comparison, "27 Dresses" was a much cleaner, sweeter movie. Hope this is helpful!

I saw the movie Saturday night. I love Patrick Dempsey and having seen the trailers on TV, I thought for sure it would be a funny, romantic movie. Well, it was not. It lacks plot, funny scene, and is just plain boring. I looked at my watch halfway through. The story is thin, very thin, and cannot sustain the movie for very long. Patrick Dempsey is quite good (I just love him), but as a whole, the movie is a disappointment.

It has been a really long time since I've seen a good movie. A friend and I decided to actually see one in the theatre, and we chose a good one. The storyline is adorable, one that many could probably relate to, and Patrick Dempsey is Mr. McDreamy for sure.

I liked this movie. It was light and fun loving. It had its moments of inuendos. However, the inuendos were unnecessary. I enjoyed the topic of the movie. I refreshed by the men in the movie encouraging the protagonist to follow his heart and become monogomous. I would recommend this movie to everyone to go and see.

The movie was cute enough. It achieved what I assume it set out to do; showcase Patrick Dempsey and capitalize on his current popularity. Aside from one too many coffee collar references (enough already), it's pretty harmless. I'd rate it as a good date movie. A mature 5th-grader could have predicted this movie's ending; however, Scotland was total eye-candy. The wedding scene ending was a bit reminiscent (ya think?) of Mrs. Robinson. Their long-term platonic friendship turning into romance reminded me of "When Harry Met Sally." A little too Disney-esque w/both protagonists missing a parent (Ariel, Cinderella, etc...). but that would have brought balance and sanity when the plot needed tension. Seeing balanced, solid and connected friendships eventually did bring that balance and courage everyone needed to get over themselves. I took my daughter and two friends to see this movie. This will be a romantic-comedy classic, I predict.

I'd maybe recommend it to an ADULT friend to rent when it comes out on DVD. I went with my daughter and her 16 year old and thought some of the content was in very poor taste and definitely not for a 16 year old, let alone a 13 year old. On top of this, the parts that were in very poor taste added nothing to the story line. Also, some of the movie dragged, but I did like the ending.

I totally loved the movie. The camera work at one point made me dizzy. I understand the reason for it but there must have been a better way. The movie didn't disappoint.

As for the comments about the camera "being on a rope", you obviously missed the point of the scene. That was to show how Tom was trying to take in all this new information and he seemed to be spinning at the thought of it. Seems to me that it was pretty well done that way. I would recommend this movie to friends.

So-so predictable mildly amusing little ditty good for a otherwise nothing else to do Saturday afternoon. Looks like most of the budget was spent on the Scotland location and what it must have cost to rent the castle some of it was shot in. Had it's moments, but not roll in the aisle gut-busting hilarity. OK film I guess. 2.5 stars at best.
