This movie met all my expectations. From a technical stand point, the graphics looked awesome and the 3D effects were icing on the cake. The voice acting was also top notch.
This movie has laughs for both adults and kids. Its a fun ride for the entire family. Definitely worth the cost of admission.

I enjoyed this movie but it really started slow. To me it was about half way into the movie before I warmed up and found things funny enough to laugh. My kids found the movie very enjoyable even though they didn't understand every joke.

I went to this movie initially because my 7 year old wanted to see it. I figured that I could deal with 90 minutes for her sake. This movie was effing hillarious. I was the one laughing the most in the whole theater. There's so many jokes in here that are meant clearly for the adults, but are presented in a way that won't harm the kids. "Spaceballs!" What 7 year old is going to understand the reference to the spoof classic? Go see this for yourself, and if you must take the kids along, then do.

I don't know if I expected too much from this movie, but I wasn't blown away with it. My 7 year old and her friend (6) liked it, but didn't LOVE it. Compared to something like Bolt, it was just ok. It could have used more laughs. On the plus side, the animation was great and the overall story was good.

Usually when I read reviews that say 'there were plenty of jokes in there for the parents too", I am let down when I go see the movie. This is one of the only kids movies I've seen that acutally made me laugh. And my 5 year old daughter loved it. There are some good lessons in there for young girls, about valuing yourself and not living in someone else's shadow.

This animated movie is very cute. The story is very simple, so it is easy for kids to follow. There is quite a bit of humor, but not alot of laugh-out-loud humor. What is outstanding in “Monsters vs. Aliens” is the creative computer-generated imagery. That makes this otherwise average movie worth seeing in the theater. I didn’t see it in 3-D, but it looks like that would add alot to the experience. I recommend seeing it in 3-D if possible.

I took my grandchildren to this movie. They had been excited to see it. They loved it and I loved it too. I don't know maybe I am in my second childhood. I laughed the whole way through. I think Seth Rogen is one of the funniest people on the planet. My grandson can quote almost every funny line in the movie and does so often. I would recommend this movie to everyone. My three kids all liked the movie, and I must say that I liked it much better than many of the recent animated films. Pixar/Disney have the habit of beating you about the face and neck with the "moral" tale they are trying to tell. I find it to be on the verge of offensive sometimes.
Dreamworks on the other hand, tells a really good story, with plenty of humor, and lets the morallity stay an undertone.
This movie is entertaining, warm, and not too long. By contrast, I think nearly every Pixar movie should have the sappy 20 minutes in the middle removed, then they too could be good.

Overall I would rate this movie good. It was certainly enjoyable on more than one age level and made me laugh outloud in many places. It had a good story line and a positive moral about self-reflection. Plus, the graphics were amazing, as they seem to get better every year. Tthe attention to slight pigmentation changes in the face, or the addition of freckles made this movie far more enjoyable than when I remember computer animated films beginning.

My wife and I took our 2 1/2 year old to see this movie and he sat throught the entire thing. Which is quite a challenge as anyone with children knows. Monsters vs. Aliens was a complete riot. I took 4 kids to this movie - ages 4 through10 - and they all loved it.
All the kids want to see this again. Defintely worth it.

Good movie if your kids are school going. We went to the Imax 3-D version after some of the other reviews said it is great for little kids. Our 4.5 yr old was scared witless in the introduction itself! Oh, the sounds! The makers of this IMAX 3-D version went overboard in making every door noise, stomping of feet sound to be sudden and super loud for shock value. Well it worked! One of us had to leave the movie after 10 mins with the kid as she didnt want to stay there! The movie/storyline itself seemed to be strung on a thin wire with some dialogues thrown in at regular intervals to make the adults chuckle. The best part - the 3D. There were a few scenes where the focus seemed to be not so clear but overall the quality was really nice.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Overall we really enjoyed it. The 7yo thought it was great! There were a couple parts too intense for the 3yo but he laughed a lot. It had a positive message and as a grandparent that was important to me. Glad we took the boys. It made for an exciting evening.
