I went to this movie initially because my 7 year old wanted to see it. I figured that I could deal with 90 minutes for her sake. This movie was effing hillarious. I was the one laughing the most in the whole theater. There's so many jokes in here that are meant clearly for the adults, but are presented in a way that won't harm the kids. "Spaceballs!" What 7 year old is going to understand the reference to the spoof classic? Go see this for yourself, and if you must take the kids along, then do.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Bella moves to Forks, falls in with this family of vampires, and wants to be like them. Maybe this is just teenage behavior: want of instant gratification without consideration of long term consequences. The character of Edward is classic- he understands the danger both to himself and to bella if he pursues her, understands that no matter what he gains, the relationship will ultimately be destructive, maybe deadly, for Bella. He spends a large part of the film being tortured and conflicted- it comes down do his own character and tenacity- like a man on a desert island, knowing how thirsty he is and knowing better than to drink the sea water.
This movie has convinced me to read the series.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

My contention with action movies is that they generally are all booms and bangs, and the plotline exists only as an excuse. Not the case with TDK, which is the best of both worlds: kick-butt action scenes (the joker is violent, but in a very impressive way cinematically) and an on-going moralistic struggle that rivals the best dramas. It's a story in which there is sometimes no right or wrong, just the better of two evils.
Acting is generally superb in this. I didn't realize that was Gary Oldman until the credits rolled. Christian Bale pulls off the Wayne character with more sincerity than the Batman- I did find it EXTREMELY annoying that as batman he alters his voice to sound like Nicolas Cage in When peggy sue got married. I thought perhaps the oscar discussion around Ledger was postmortem granduerizing, but changed my mind upon viewing. It's hard to pull of evil and anarchy believably, but he embodied these notions to create a truly inhumane villain.
DO NOT TAKE YOUNG KIDS! I would say atleast 10+. I was horrified that the couple sitting next to us brought their 3 year old.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Indiana Jones is like pizza: even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. Cate Blanchett had a hard time maintaining her ukranian accent, which came and went in scense, shia lebeouf was actually very good. I thought the Karen Allen character lost her depth in from the original film. Overall, though, not a bad night out. The special effects were fantastic, but overall storyline kind of weak.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Even if you already loved the first movie, this one will still be a surprise. It was awesome. Special effects were great, scenery was dazzling, everyone's acting was superb. The only downside to the film is its length: nearly two and half hours. I took one small child (aged 6) with me, and while the content was okay for her age [not there are some battle scenes in which characters die, but on the whole not very graphic], she had a hard time sitting through the whole thing. THE STAR of this film is Caspian, who steals every scene that he is in- not really sure why the directors choose to have the Talmarines speak with Italian accents (yes, I know many of the actors were italian).
The single thing I appreciated most about this movie is that, with a few exceptions (i.e. a hint of romance between Caspian and Susan), it didn't deviate or water down the story as presented in Lewis' text. I'm glad to see that the Dawn Treader is next, though note that the annoying boy you see as the start of the film approaching Susan is the one playing Eustace in that, which might make CON-DT unbearable.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
