there is alot going on in this movie. there is never a dull moment. the story jumped around alot. i get the idea this is a "man's movie" like "mummy, ,just action, not too much of a story, just "action, action" but the performace of Ledger was indeed "superb"!

i am always concerned when i read all the hype about a movie that it wont live up to my expectations. not only did this movie live up to my view of what Batman should be, it blew everything out of the water. the casting is phenomenal, the acting doesnt seem like acting, and the story is given the attention it has deserved but never gotten. A-+++++

Heath Ledger's performance is great, but the movie overall is too slow-moving, long and serious for me. I like to see more action and fun in my superhero movies. Good quality, just not great for me. I also enjoyed Aaron Eckhart's performance as Harvey Dent.

What a way to end a career! I'm still sad about the loss of Heath Ledger. But I believe all of us were put on this earth to do something amazing. This is HIS "something amazing." I'm not one to exaggerate and I've never felt the need to review a movie before, but his performance and this movie in general deserves all the great things and more people are saying here. Not since I was a kid have I gone back and seen a movie again the next day, but I plan on seeing it again today. If Heath Ledger doesn't get an Academy Award for his performance, they will loose all credibility for me and I will never pay attention to them again!

Dont be deceived. This movie was attrocious. Every aspect of the movie was cliché. If you love all action and zero character development then this is the movie for you. This movie trades in all the originality and intelligence of Iron Man for bigger wheels. As a great fan of comic movies, this one is akin to a jennifer garner abomination.

This is a darker approach to the caped crusader, but it's effective. There is no doubt that Heath Ledger's performance adds immeasurably to his legacy. His character was far better developed than I would have dreamed. Expect amazing special effects. Supporting actors, including the always-good Sir Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman, were strong also.
The missing star in my review is due to the Dark Knight himself, Christian Bale, who wasn't so much dark as, well....colorless. (What was with that wierd hissing voice when he donned his bat suit? What???)
This is not a film to take your child to see. I think this movie deserved an R rating, and I was relieved that we did not choose to bring our 12-year-old daughter with us.

The Dark Knight was one of the best superhero movies made in recent years, and Heath Ledger's final performance on the silver screen was stellar (I wish there was more of him in the movie). However, the movie falls short of the "masterpiece" label it has been given by most people.
In fact, I wonder if people are hyping it up a bit too much b/c of Ledger's tragic and untimely passing.

I can say without question this movie lives up to all they hype and delivers in every aspect, The movie kicks off the action straight away and proceeds to excite and thrill throughout the entire movie,
The Dark Knight truly delves into the difficult choices a person in Bruce Wayne's situation would have to deal with.
Bale plays an outstanding Batman who is torn between what is right for him and what is right for the people of Gotham. Eckhardt is great as the wanna be hero that just cant seem to win. And without question the late Heath Ledger gives one of the best, and twisted, performances I can remember as the Joker.
Overall this movie is a must see for everybody.

The movie was too dark, depressing and endless. The resolution was unsatisfying and with no direction. The storyline was too long with one vile catastrophe after another. While I appear to be in the minority in this perception, my age group may reveal my repugnance. Too many repetitive violent scenes. Heath Ledger was exceptional, but too dark and humorless. I would have liked to see the Joker more cleverly fun, not just pure evil. His Joker represented death and carnage and I felt every bit of it. I didn't care for Maggie G as Rachel, nor Christian Bale as Batman. She was uncharismatic and he was stiff with no appeal as a "hero." The ending was awful, all "good" characters lost out, evil prevailed. That happens enough in real life.

A lot of times, a movie is hyped up and doesn't live up to expectations. This one does and more. Not only is Heath Ledger perfect as The Joker, but all the cast are perfect in their parts. The twists and turns, wondering what The Joker will do next, is just fantastic. For those with kids, the movie does earn its PG-13 and the action is very intense. If your child is under 12, have them wait for it will be too much. But after that... take them and have fun. It's well worth it!

Ledger's performance as Joker is brilliant. One moment you despise his psychotic mind, the next you're laughing at his comic genius. Then back to the psycho. The story was dark and deep. The action non-stop. I wanted the show to continue for another 2.5 hours. I'll definitely see it again in a couple of weeks.

I saw The sequel to batman begins on opening day. the Dark Knight is my favorite movie and Christopher Nolan did an amazing Job with this movie. All the actors were excellent: Christian bale played a dark and intimidating Batman never seen before on the screen. heath Ledger pulled off the role of one of the darkest and coolest villian ever the joker. Aaron Eckhart played a perfect Two-Face and Harvey dent. The story line was awsome. i enjoyed every single minute of this movie. Go See The Dark Knight!!!!!!!!

One of the best movies I've seen in theaters, the acting is phenominal, the story line is amazing, the action is great, and the joker had a ton of great little punch lines and quotes. Despite the death of Heath Ledger, it was a good movie. Graffics great, the explosions and semi truck flipping was awesome. This movie will get you thinking about future Batman movies.

This is a good movie, but not nearly the astonishingly great movie I was lead to expect. Yes, Heath Ledger's performance is nuanced and quite wonderful, but several of the other performers seemed to be going through the motions, and Christian Bale is bland to the point of almost disappearing. The plot simply doesn't hold together as the modern morality tale the makers seem to think it is, and when that fails, the action is too tame, too repetitious in style, and too infrequent to carry the film. I would recommend this movie, but would also advise expecting much less than advertised. Once the furor dies down, this will go down as a mediocre bridge movie between the wonderful first one and the blockbuster we can expect from the third.

Not being a big Batman fan I was hesitant to go; however, Heath Ledger's performance was all the hype and more. What a tragic loss- after seeing his performance, I know there was more greatness come from this young man. On the other side I did think Christian Bale was not the best Batman. His horrible fake voice to hide his identity was juvenile and comical at times. However, the movie was great. It did not even seem like you were there for 2.5 hrs. The plot twist were really good. I dont want to give to much of the movie away, but wow. The only thing that could have been better would have been to stick to original comic story line, bring Michael Keaton back as Batman, and leave the 2nd villian alive for the next movie in the series.

this was by far the best superhero movie ever!! heath did the damn fool in this thing! from start to end it was interesting. this movie actually shows you the true darkness and insanity of joker. i hate with a passion heath is gone. all i can say is let joker rest in peace, for there is absolutely no way he can be replaced.

This was a great movie, if you have not seen it u should! it was great how the movie began opening to joker and leading up to two face. but all the other stuff showing joker doing his destruction was lenghty and could have been cut or put in the next movie n left two face story in the next.i like the action in this movie but the first i think i like better it flowed easier. but this sequel turned out pretty good!

We went to the movie to please our granddaughter. I dislike violence, death, gratuitious bombings and gore, and saw too much of it. The characterizations were excellent, if not fully developed. The complexities were interesting (the balance of good and evil in each person's character could have used more developing and clarity) and left you looking for more storyline and less special effects. it was lovely to spot the Chicago locations. Worth seeing? Sure if you do not mind the violence and the noise and the anger and the human destruction.

Though we enjoyed Batman - and will probably watch it again, I cannot agree with all the hoopla. It is an action film that delivers more than a sufficient amount of action, but has a few problems. It is difficult to understand some dialogue due to the juxtaposition of sound/music in the background. There is not much ‘chemistry’ between the actors or between the actors and the audience. Christian Bale is good, but stiff. Heath was excellent. He should be respected for his stretch, in this role, as an actor, but did not show enough of a range to be considered exceptional. Other supporting actors were also excellent, but there is no one in the movie whom the audience can truly believe.
In short - it is good entertainment, but not a classic.

If you haven't seen it yet, I think I'm safe in saying that you are alone!! Great acting from all who participated and with the current success of the movie, I’m sure all of these actors have a long career ahead of them. It was a lengthy movie but there wasn't a dull moment.
