Avatar -- the movie was sensational. I immediately wanted to see it again! Not only was the story good -- but the graphics and scenes were phenomenal. Cameron knows how to fill a screen and tell a story. Don't miss this one!
The new movie Star Trek is great fun. Although there was space fighting (& alot of fisticuffs) the movie was primarily about the people. We learned about the different individuals and how they all first got together. It was like any relationship you have, the longer you know someone, the more background and info you learn about them. So this was getting to know old friends.
However, it was not all about the people. The movie was exciting. It was thrilling in some parts. It was great fun. I heartily recommend it.
Even more interesting is that they actually found a way to completely begin the series again. We can now start from the beginning and have a whole set of brand new adventures. -- Brilliant!!
This movie was terrific for explaining the background behind who is Wolverine and why does he act like he does. In addition, Hugh Jackman does a terrific job.
The movie does not follow the comics exactly however, and there will be those die-hards that resent any changes. But for those of us that remember that it all is a fantasy and that fantasies can and do change - it was a wonderful addition to the X-Men series.
I liked this movie. It was good afternoon entertainment. Yes I think Jet Li could have been more fierce-and his character more developed. Actually I don’t think the entire story was as developed as well as in previous episodes. But the story line was good. ‘Rick’ was good – Jonathon is getting a little 1-dimensional. The new Evie was good – though I had longed for the ‘old’ one, this one did well. The son was fine – his story could have been more developed too. But all-in-all, good fun.
Though we enjoyed Batman - and will probably watch it again, I cannot agree with all the hoopla. It is an action film that delivers more than a sufficient amount of action, but has a few problems. It is difficult to understand some dialogue due to the juxtaposition of sound/music in the background. There is not much ‘chemistry’ between the actors or between the actors and the audience. Christian Bale is good, but stiff. Heath was excellent. He should be respected for his stretch, in this role, as an actor, but did not show enough of a range to be considered exceptional. Other supporting actors were also excellent, but there is no one in the movie whom the audience can truly believe. In short - it is good entertainment, but not a classic.
