What's wrong with you people? Whatever happened to the concept of judging things on their merit? No matter what you think of Tom Cruise, this is a fantastic movie about a historical event that every person should know about. I can't believe there are people out there who will not see this film because of their own misguided ideas about an actor. If you don't see this movie because of your own ignorance and predjudices, YOU'RE the looser. When I hear comments like some here, I fear the sacrifices of brave men like these; men who rank "righteousness" over their own personal safety and well-being might have been entirely in vein. Get over yourselves!
What a way to end a career! I'm still sad about the loss of Heath Ledger. But I believe all of us were put on this earth to do something amazing. This is HIS "something amazing." I'm not one to exaggerate and I've never felt the need to review a movie before, but his performance and this movie in general deserves all the great things and more people are saying here. Not since I was a kid have I gone back and seen a movie again the next day, but I plan on seeing it again today. If Heath Ledger doesn't get an Academy Award for his performance, they will loose all credibility for me and I will never pay attention to them again!
