Although the movie was over all disappointing, Heath Ledgers performance as the Joker was excellent. I felt the movie very predictable and campy at times. The special effects were good, but the over all feel of the movie was less then impressive.

There are still a number of flaws with Nolan's Batman, first and foremost being the mediocre score. Bale is great. The Harvey Dent story line is the best thing about the movie. It's a bit too long and some scenes are drawn out unnecessarily long, but it is a fun and compelling movie for the most part. Ledger is capable as the Joker, although he could easily be replaced by Johnny Depp (who he seemed to be channeling for much of his performance). I don't want to say much else for fear of spoilers, but I am very excited for a third installment. My guess is it will be the best opf this new series.

This was a great movie without all the computer graphics. Seems alot more real then many action movies now days. Ledger does great with making himself as the Joker, giving him small habits that really makes him believeable. Bale takes Batman in and makes him his own. This lived up to all the hype surrounding it. Make sure your ready not to get up during the movie or you'll miss something.

After being completely taken by Batman Begins, The Dark Knight unleashes an ever greater story. Not a moment went by that I thought it may be disappointing. The Joker keeps you on the edge of your seat with his witty and unpredictable antics.
Heath Leger delivers probably the best performance of his career, undoubtedly Oscar worthy. (RIP Heath)
The only downfall of this movie is Maggie Gyllenhaal. She lacked chemistry with Bale on screen. And I just was not convinced she was really Rachel Dawes.
Of course Christian Bale was just as amazing as the first. By far the biggest blockbuster hit of the year.

It's hard to belive but "TheDark Knight" is better than "Batman Begins" which in itself is a success. As expected Joker steals the movie. Story in this movie is a lot more interesting than most superhero movies. It connects more with the real world than comics. Highly recommended. The only negative I could find are:
- movie is slightly too long.
- Katie Holmes no longer starring in the movie.

I loved this movie. The action is so great the 2.5 hours fly by. I sat with such anticipation to see Heath on the screen and just as I thought he made the Joker the best part of the movie. There will be a lot of focus on Heath for this role and that is fine because Christian Bale really is the best Batman and people will be going to his next Batman just for him. I hope there will be another one I love the series and can't wait to see who the next villian will be.

I went and saw The Dark Knight at a midnight showing when it was released. It was REMARKABLE. I'm not usually all that interested in action/superhero type movies, and I was captivated the entire time. I couldn't look away. Surprises come at you from every direction, it's visually stunning and it just never, ever drags- despite it's length.
Ledger delivered an unforgettable performance. Chilling at times, always amazingly committed to the role, it was a performance that he will always be remembered for.

This immersive title was something of a surprise and only left me wanting more realisitic behavior. The way people behave like small children in this movie is upsetting and hopefully, unrealistic. While you can argue its just a movie and a fantasy movie as well, this isn't one of those things that is supposed to be made up but to actually reflect a behavior seen in society. I guess i can get it.
However, the action and plot line itself has a very long enjoyable feel to it. I found myself wondering when it would end but merely out of curiosity and not the desire to stop watching it.

By far the best action adventure movie of this comic book genre. Not only is the action non-stop, but this movie quickly grabs you and forces you to try to figure out what is happening at every corner - because you know something is up! Heath Ledger's performance is nothing short of Oscar material - he never leaves his character regardless of what is going on; constantly humored by the whole situation. Especially powerful is the scene in the interrogation room where the Joker continues to laugh in spite of the punishment doled out by Batman.
While I am a big fan of Maggie Gyllenhaal, I thought her performance came off too much as Harvey Dent's girlfriend instead of a combination of empassioned attorney, fiesty Gotham public defender, and possible Bruce Wayne love interest. I never bought the fact that she was torn between Bruce Wayne (as per the ending of Batman Returns) and the new DA, Harvey Dent.
Overall however, there is little to find fault with; all of the performances hold together extremely well with the action, special effects and story line. Christian Bales gives another outstanding performance as the caped crusader showing more anger as Batman, but continues to be aloof as Bruce Wayne. Michael Caine has another steller Michael Caine performance; he never seems to be acting. Gary Oldman has a bigger role in this movie and does a great job, as does Aaron Eckhart as a slightly dubious DA that comes across too good to be true in the beginning. This is a must see movie, and destined to be a classic.

In short, this movie is all the other Batman films ever wanted to be.
Not much keeps me awake at midnight, baby, but I was up happily until 2:45 enjoying a complex plot, very satisfying Bat-technology, oh, and Gary Oldman and Heath Ledger. Heath Ledger as the Joker was bone-chilling. I absolutely loved Harvey Dent/Two Face, and the graphics used to build (or rather expose) his face were stunning.
And Gary Oldman, well... I was already in love with him, and this just seals the deal.
Go see this movie. Really.

Before I went to this movie I truly thought that the hype was going to ruin it. Everyone set the expectations to such a high level, I thought for sure it could not meet them. Not only did it meet them, this movie surpassed the expectations with room to spare! The special effects are incredible! I even went with someone who didn't like the first movie, and she LOVED this movie!!! Everyone should see this movie!

This movie is one of the greatest action films of all time and to see it in IMAX only makes it better. My girl and I saw the Midnight showing and was immedately blown away from the start. Heath Ledger took the Joker to a level that true fans will be talking about for years to come. The overall action was jaw dropping and unique. This movie was 2 hours and 30 minutes long and left you wanting tmore and more. This is a must see.

The Dark Knight was intense, suspensful and yet humorous. The Joker brought a lot of black jokes. The movie got 4 stars out of 4. WALL-E also did but most people did not agree. You will agree with the Dark Knight's stars. A lot of children want to see this (and I am 10 myself and went to the midnight showing.) Children under 12 might not get their way. The Dark Knight had non stop violence, (which is disturbing at times) the gun shots are as loud as a 500 gram firework which are almost non stop throughout the film. Also, the Joker's appereance might frighten little kids.
Overall, the best movie of 2008 if not the 00's.
Iron Man was like the 2003 Hulk compared to the Dark Knight!

I went to see the very first showing of this movie in the DFW metroplex - good thing we purchased tickets days in advance because the announcement was that 4K tickets had been sold for this opening night i.e., SOLD OUT! I was impressed to see all of the Batman gear and painted faces and the buzz of anticipation crackling through the air at the theater. We had been eagerly awaiting this premiere - as Batman fans and also because we felt this was going to be a serious memorial to our recently lost and most beloved Heath Ledger.
I honestly almost didn't go, I didn't want to be disappointed in the movie, especially as Ledger had reportedly poured so much of his very soul into this role as the evil and quite misunderstood character, the Joker. Without giving anything away, it's anything BUT a disappointment - Heath's sheer brilliance as an actor came alive in this swan song and serves as a fitting tribute to our man, who will continue to be sorely missed for a long time to come.
Christian Bale - I like him, I do,it was an uncomfortable thing for me getting to know him and coming to believe him as Batman, but eventually he won me over. A little too cartoony for me in the beginning, but who's to say that's not exactly how the director envisioned and created it to play off the very dark aspects of the title character, the Joker. I liked Aaron Eckhart in the role of Harvey Dent, very believable and a good distraction and set up for possible Batman franchises yet to come? Maggie G did a respectable job as well, I love her as an actress but have never viewed her the drop-dead, ragingly beauiful lead female. Michael Caine as Alfred and Morgan Freeman in his role as Bruce Wayne's right-hand man, along with Gary Oldham as Commsh Gordon flesh out the pic. OVERALL, 5 stars, no doubts about it!

While I enjoyed Batman Begins, it was honestly not my favorite. I was almost dragged into the movie theater by friends at midnight. When The Dark Night ended, I gladly joined the standing ovation that the 500 people in the crowd had started. From start to finish, this movie is incredible. Christian Bale delivers a better performance than the first, and other cast members such as Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are also good, but Heath Ledger, may he rest in peace, was absolutely stunning. Without giving anything away, it is hard to describe some of his best moments. The only words I can say are go see it, because I believe that his performance as the Joker could easily be nominated for an Academy Award, and it would be a shame for anybody to miss this exquisite piece of acting.

This movie was excellent! One of Heath Ledger's best performances. Watching this movie truly showed what we lost in the tragedy that ended his life.
At 150 minutes, it was a long movie. However, with only a few slow spots, it didn't feel that it was that long.
Acting - great. Directing - great. CG - great. As long as they don't try to replace Ledger as Joker in upcoming movies, this series could have a good run.
BTW, the ad for Watchmen, it would've made the whole thing worth it anyway.

IMAX OPENING MIDNIGHT SHOW! After the costume contest ended with outfits that would even make Michael Keaton blush, the epic began. A movie that lasted for two and a half hours makes an evening disappear into the night leaving only chilling memories of amazement. This movie is worth every dollar spent on your admission. Bale and Ledger will never see a day without being known as Batman and the Joker ever again. My only regret is that I had only one chance to see the movie for the first time, and that time has come and gone. I envy those of you who read this review, and still have that chance in your pocket.

Action-packed, great plot, exciting the whole way through. Christian Bale delivers, Heath Ledger delivers, and you can feel the Oscar vibe starting already. This is a great movie that definitely lived up to its expectations.
