I was skeptical going in, but Boondock II totally delivered. The humor, style, and tone of the first film was captured perfectly, without being redundant. Julie Benz is a really fun addition to the group as the FBI agent. Great soundtrack. Really, if you dug the first one, you will probably be tickled by this one.
There are still a number of flaws with Nolan's Batman, first and foremost being the mediocre score. Bale is great. The Harvey Dent story line is the best thing about the movie. It's a bit too long and some scenes are drawn out unnecessarily long, but it is a fun and compelling movie for the most part. Ledger is capable as the Joker, although he could easily be replaced by Johnny Depp (who he seemed to be channeling for much of his performance). I don't want to say much else for fear of spoilers, but I am very excited for a third installment. My guess is it will be the best opf this new series.
I was skeptical going in, but I could not believe it was as bad as ti was. Heartless, unoriginal, ridiculius in a bad way. My friend and I were in awe after the movie. We could not believe Ford was that bad. The script was that bad. Every action scene was a rehash of a classic one or was just so aburd it made it no fun. Not even Indy can survive a nuclear bomb....This movie made me so sad.
Martin Scorsese's work is the reason to see thsi movie. The Stones' performance is actually a bit lacking, partially due to a mediocre setlist. The guest performances of Jack White, Buddy Guy, and Christina Aguilera were all good. The moie could have used more bits liek that. I liked the cuts to previous footage of the band over their career and could have used more of that. It is shot incredibly well. The sound is superb. I'd recommend it if you are a BIG Rolling Stones fan. Otherwise, I'd just tell you to rent THE LAST WALTZ, the greatest rockumentary ever made.
