I absolutely loved every second of it. No need to get into why I loved it, everything was what i expected it to be and more! Heath Ledger did an amazing job and it upsets me that he isn't able to take in the glory of his best performance ever! R.I.P. I recommend this movie to everyone and anyone.

I thought the Dark Knight was one of the best movies I have ever seen, but also one of the most violent. I thought the acting was top knotch, the story was great, but the moral dilemmas and terrorist type violence means that I would not recommend this movie to fellow christians. It wasn't gory or bloody, but a lot of people get killed by burning or explosions or bullets. Go enjoy this movie if you are brave and tough, but if you are at all sensitive, leave this one alone.

I don't know what I can say that hasn't been said about this great film. Heath Ledger better win the Oscar for his brilliant portrayal of the Joker. I just hope Aaron Eckhart doesn't get overlooked as I thought his role as Two-Face was very well-done. While The Joker was insanely evil from the start, Eckhart had to take his character from being the "white knight" good guy to a place of darkness and despair. Christian Bale was the center of gravity for this story keeping all the threads together and moving the story along to the end where he disappears off into the "dark knight" and the promise of the next sequel.

You always fear a movie is just being overhyped and exhajurated. Well that is NOT the case with The Dark Knight. The movie was absolutely amazing. Heath's version of the Joker was incredible. I was truly intrigued on how he took an iconic character and took it to another level...a very dark and twisted level. Christian Bale was again a great, solid Batman. I will say the unsung hero was Michael Cane. His small part was a fantastic addition to the movie. Overall this movie is truly set the bar for everyone to reach.

The Dark Knight was fantastic. If you are a Batman fan you will be floored. Even if you're not a Batman fan after watching the Dark Knight you just might be recruited. It took the Batman series to another level entirely. You got to see the vulnerablility and turmoil that Batman struggled with as well as the heroic steps and sacrifices he made to protect Gotham City. You can relate with him as a man and sense the realism in his super hero aspect. The Joker was off the chain. Heath Ledger did the Joker justice. I don't know how we'll replace him. Dent was very believable as the vigilanty and as the villian. Michael Caine was wonderful as Alfred the Butler and Morgan Freeman did an excellent job as the head of Wayne Enterprises and Wayne's friend and confidant. This movie was action packed from the opening scene. You will not be bored by any stretch of the imagination. Batman fans......you are in for a treat. I can't wait for the rest of the series and the re-introduction of the other Gotham City Villians.

I have to say that I didn't care for this movie. The plot was muddled, with Batman not knowing whether he was a hero or villain and sometimes doing very un-heroic things. He jutted out his jaw and growled his lines as the Batman, which I found so distracting and distrubing that I couldn't pay attention to what he was saying. Heath Ledger was brilliant as the joker, but if you're going to see Heath, don't bother--he is so immersed in his character that you can't enjoy the time that he's on screen. The entire thing was too long and too violent, and it ended badly, leaving me disappointed and depressed rather than entertained.

This was a great movie. Heath Ledger's performance was so well done. I think he really embraced that character and truly became the Joker. It was a little long and could have been edited tighter, but overall it's definately one of the best Batman movies to date. Lot's of action, great Batman toys and the entire cast did an amazing job. Go see this movie!!

Alot has been said already about TDK. I feel
the movie lived up to all the hype surrounding it.
By the 3rd act, I was mostly convinced(and sympathetic) towards the Joker and his plight.
Heath Ledger immersed himself into the role, and it shows. I cannot think of a better villain to love since Darth Vader. The only down side I could see to this film was the lack of character development of Bruce Wayne. Yes, we all know what motivates him, but we learned little of what state of mind he is in.
All the actors lived up to their roles, the effects are on par, and the story was well conceived. I waited 2 weeks to see this film, and it was WELL worth it. I wish ALL superhero movies could live up to this standard.

I want to say that this movie wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but don't let that steer you away from it. The acting was superb on all the character's parts, the Joker in particular, Heath Ledger's performance as the iconic psychopath was grade A, he was a funny character in a dark way.
Christian Bale as Batman and Bruce Wayne was also top notch, as his character became more aware of the effects he's had on the city he's emotions are expressed beautifully and Alfred adds great support.
Two-Face is intorduced and is portrayed like a mirror image from the comics to the big screen (in character mind you, not looks however Two-Face had to be the best makeupjob I've ever seen in a movie, unless that was computer generation).
I could go on but I'm sure you all get the idea about the acting. The story and plot don't dissapoint either but there isn't much I can say about it without giving something away. What i will say is that this is one of those movies that is PG-13 but borderline R, it's not a movie for little kids, parents you have been warned.
Overall the entire experience was great, I just wish the theater I went to hadn't replaced their seats as the new ones are uncomfortable, but that's not the movie's fault.
Definitly recommend it to most anybody into the genre, but leave the kids at home.

This is a movie that will be seen over & over by many. Heath Ledger's performance was one for the record books. He potrayed the Joker in a whole new way & i feel he REINVENTED the character. He was absolutely amazing. I personally like the "Dark" Batman character better than the "Hero" Batman. :) Def.. will recommend to anyone.

My husband is a HUGE batman fan and he got me into the series. Batman Begins is truly my favorite. We went to a 10pm showing and I was having trouble staying awake and I looked over @ him and he was asleep. The movie had an excellent premise but a little too long to sit in a theater. We will definitely watch it, repetatively, when it comes out on dvd. I gave it 4 stars only because of the length. When it finally reaches HBO I will probably watch it every time its on.

I didn't know it was 2 and a half hours until right before showtime but was surprised to find that it didn't drag at all. This one is a little less about Batman and more about the other player involved. (I think Alfred had as many lines as Bruce/Batman). Of course all the hype that you hear about Heath Ledger is totally merited. I'm looking forward to the next one and hope Batman will have a bigger part.

Without the "Heath Ledger Buzz", this movie would not recieve all the undeserved attention.

I have seen most of the Batman movies more because my family is into them and I usually go along. I loved Jack Nicholson as the joker because nobody can play a psycho like Jack. But Christian Bale just does it for me as Batman. Batman Begins was great to me because it told a good story and featured Bruce Wayne as a rich playboy rogue so I could appreciate that. Plus Christian Bale's Batman kicks butt - I need the action because the story line to me is well, we all know it all too well. Ledger as the joker was surprisingly well-done. Overall, The Dark Knight was entertaining, exciting to watch, and the actors did their jobs well. It got a bit too long towards the end however - like, ok, when are going to wrap this up already - but it had a few little unexpected surprises as well. I am not a comic book hero fan per se, so for me to give it a 4 is saying something. (By the way, Batman Begins would get a 5 and Batman Returns would get a 3.5 from me).

Someone said Aaron Eckhardt was really good as Harvey Dent, especially during his fall from grace. But I was so mesmerized by that gad-awful face, I can't say I noticed. Or really even registered half the things he said after his accident. I'd like to see it again, of course, but it's possible the special fx overshadow the content here. Honestly, though, like I'll ever understand what the heck is going on in Lord of the Rings either? I still love it!

batman is not my favorite hero. i'm a clark kent super-man struggle with a lack of humanity in a humanity ridden world kind of guy. however, the dark night brings it, i regret to say, better than superman returns.
we'll start with the obvious. the late oscar nominee heath ledger. a lot of people and hype will surround this movie because of an overdose. ledger is great as the joker. it's different than jack, and jack was brilliant. the scene where he leaves, candystriped, the hospital in silence and is prancing and destroying via remote is one of the best scenes i've witnessed in a thourough cinematic personal history.
there is a great movie here, bale is very good as wayne, maybe ok as batman. batman is a side character here. the other characters, even morgan "ubiquitous" freeman are more a character than he. the movie could have been the joker. batman's story has been told over and over. horribly multiple times. the joker is always only a foil. here he is the movie. overhype aside. the length and multiple climaxing drops it from great for me, i use a four point system, and the fourth point is saved for greats like shaw shank or good will hunting. i don't use half points so, it's a 3, but a good one.
