Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The characters were well played. Even for a guy who was a teenager during the original, i was well satisfied with the creation of this younger crew.

I"d go see again, soon, and that's a rarity for me. It was fun, funny, full of action, great acting and story telling, a formidable villain and respectable plot. Superb storytelling. A great tribute to the original series with the possibility of a new franchise being born. This movie is a success. I hope the same crew can come together to make a sequel and more. Star Trek lives!

What fun! I loved the actors, they did such a nice job of portraying their 1960's counterparts. The chemistry between them really made the movie. The story was good and well paced and the special effects, of course. were terrific. I actually liked Star Trek well enough that I would go back again with my son. As for that 10 year old son, however, I'm not sure that this is something I am actually prepared for him to see. He would love the funny parts, which were truly funny, but I think that perhaps this movie is a bit too violent for him just yet.

A franchise is reborn! A great new twist on a classic. Kirk, especially, is fantastic! A roller coaster type thrill ride, with all the humor and chemistry of the original series. Must see it again, to tide me over until they make a sequel!

Its nice to see a Star trek movie that gives you all the elements and this one seemed to. There was action there was a plot there were fun and interesting Characters and best of all there was a twist. Hoping to see more of the this Franchise in future.

This movie was great! The cinematography was terrific and the storyline was easy to follow - even for younger audiences as well as for those who don't know original story. The cast played the characters perfectly! I can't wait to see the next one.

With one viewing this has become one of my favorite movies period. I've never been that into Star Trek anyway, so that is saying something. It starts fast and has enough good action and surprises to satisfy non-Trekkies but it also delivers enough references to the original series to make even the hardcore fan smile with nostalgia. I would recommend Star Trek to friends for a good time and enemies in an attempt to extend an olive branch of peace.

Put simply --- go see it, it's worth your ten bucks (or so). If you're familiar with the Star Trek mythology, great, but if you're not, that's OK, too. For us long-time fans, there's a familiarity, certainly and that's really good stuff: the uniform colors, nods to the Trek films, the resemblance to the original actors (including a cameo by Leonard Nimoy). It's a popcorn movie, and that's a good thing.

loud and action-packed. the actors are strong and cohesive. best is zachary quinto as spock: elegant, understated, nuanced, an actor who wants to give pleasure to the audience, not indulge himself. the rest respond to their director's taste for noisy excess, so they're rarely inspired. bones, scotty and chekhov have their moments. the bloated, lazy script passes itself off as hip. but the effects wear out one's patience since it's unclear what danger is being overcome or why. in the future the actors will need sharp, clear, uh, logical writing, not street badinage to bump the plot forward. this isn't writing, it's overhearing. but the cast is game. better luck next time.

Rebooting an old franchise, JJ Abrams knocked this one way out of the park. In the way last year's Iron Man stole the early movie brigade's show, this may well take the cake as the best film of the year. It will have you laughing, the action and space sequences will drop your jaw to the floor, and, for the ol' Trekkie fans, this gives an instant kick for many more movies to come from a great pairing of actors lead by Chris Pine.
The film was astoundingly good, far beyond my expectations as a non-Trekkie, and has me wanting to watch more of the original series.

Nice mix of paying hommage to classic series, while forging ahead in a new direction. Actors conveyed their namesakes quirks effectively, especially McCoy & Kirk. Some lines were cheesy since they were obligatory shout-outs. Overall, a great franchise reboot!

Took my son to see it and wasnt sure what to think. We BOTH enjoyed it very much! I was beaming ear to ear to see all the characters meet for the first time and all those little inside jokes. My 12 year old son had never really seen the old shows and he loved the movie for what it was....a great action movie with plenty of comedy mixed in.
One of the best movies I have seen in a long time!

We really liked this flick. Got there a little late and had to sit in the front row. Not a great place for the action scenes and it was a little harder to understand what was said. I think we would have enjoyed it more farther back. The actors were well chosen and thought out and were the best part of the show. We were glad that Shatner was not in this show. It would have cluttered the plot. Definitely leaves the door open for sequels. Younger generations will like this movie even if not familiar with the older star trek generation. Not so young generations will feel nostalgic and smile at the good memories this movie provides.

This movie is a true-blue summer blockbuster.
If you enjoyed the original series you will love this movie. The performances by these young actors are all amazingly spot on to the original characters from the TV show. Kudos to the director, screen writer and set design for breathing new life into this cult classic. The whole movie was de-je-vue but with the addition of state-of-the-art special affects plus action from start to finish.
If you love action adventure or Sci-Fi, it don't get much better then this.

For 30 long years i've made fun of star trek fans.
Action in previews looked great, I like the actor playing spok, girlfriend is a trek movie fan.
I was itching in the movie, wanting to hit Hollywood to rent the originals (never seen'em).

As a lifelong Star Trek fan I appreciate this new movie. They pretty much nailed all the characters with the exception of Chekov. A few oddities and bloopers, like starships going to warp drive right out of Earth orbit (a definite no-no!). And a bit unclear at times about the time-travel aspect. But a great setup for the next one!
