What fun! I loved the actors, they did such a nice job of portraying their 1960's counterparts. The chemistry between them really made the movie. The story was good and well paced and the special effects, of course. were terrific. I actually liked Star Trek well enough that I would go back again with my son. As for that 10 year old son, however, I'm not sure that this is something I am actually prepared for him to see. He would love the funny parts, which were truly funny, but I think that perhaps this movie is a bit too violent for him just yet.
I would recommend this movie to a friend, depending upon who they are. Some people would not like to see the animals be killed, but at the same time it is really amazing to see their stories. I think this movie should have been rated PG for mild violence. - 10 year old
10 year old's father - I felt this was a difficult movie to see, my 6 year old is still talking about how sad it was. I cannot shake some of the images of animal suffering, and for myself, I wish I hadn't seen it.
Good story, well acted, scenes of skid row eye opening and important for all of us to see, but the movie is lacking something - the emotions I was expecting to feel just weren't there. The NPR (Fresh Aire) interview with Steve Lopez himself was better. I am sorry to say this as I was sure I would love this movie.
