I attended the 2nd Sat. at the Burbank AMC. Fun hosts, good audience and the day went surprisingly fast. Enjoyed each movie more than I expected, but my favorite was Up. Will definitely go again.

This was my 1st Best Picture Showcase. I loved it. I went to the Showcase in Rockaway NJ. There was some problem & the last movie starter 45 minutes later than it was originally advertised to start. After sitting in the theatre all day, I was not happy to hear that. Besides that, the Showcase was great - great value for your money. And since there were 10 pictures up for nomination this year, it was a great way to see 5 of them in one day.

I wasn't sure I'd have the stamina to sit through an entire day of films, but this was a really great experience! I enjoyed every film and was so glad I had this opportunity to catch up on some of the Oscar nominees. I really love movies so much, the time just flew by. I plan to do this again next year!

Both of us have difficulty walking, especially up and down stairs. The first theatre we had to walk up stairs to the handicap seats. At the 2nd these seats were on the entry level. YIPPEE!
As usual the overal experience was great. Had thought 2 days would be too much, but loved it. Just wish we still got the the unlimited soda as well as the popcorn.
The only small issue I had was that tickets were sold to some of the individual movies. Not to cool since it then makes for a really crowded space. And get those poor kids better mics so we can here them when they make announcements or do the trevia questions!

I really like the Ocsar marathon and regret that I did not go the first Saturday also. I was surprised that there were so much fewer people this year. It must have been the weather. I think it is a great idea and plan to come every year and bring friends.

The theater allowed the general public to purchase tickets for the different movies all day long. So, ever film there were different people joining the group, filling in open seats around the theater. I didn't care for this, with the amount of time being spent in the theater for the day I would have liked to have an extra seat next to me to spread out a little bit. I mean, don't get me wrong, I understand the AMC needs to make it's $, but it took away some of the intimate feeling of the event. You could no longer turn to someone else who attended the event and have a conversation about the past couple of films.

This is my second year attending the showcase in Westminster. Last year the thing was a sellout, and a blast, people were really into the spirit of things. This year, because of the Academy's decision to do 10 movies, I was only able to attend the second day . There was, unfortunately for the theater, not a big turnout. I would imagine most people went on the first day. The doors opened at 9, I got the seats we wanted, and set up camp. There was plenty of room to spread out and be comfy. The trivia contests were fun, if not well attended, because everyone was rushing to go to the bathroom or get something to eat. Movies started promptly, management was great.. I waited all year for this. Loved it..

Third year attending, and loved it just as much. Upon arriving the theatre had run out of lanyards, which was disappointing. I always look forward to adding the commemorative booklet to my collection. Without this, it was difficult to keep track of how long each movie would run, and when the next movie would begin as there was no schedule posted. Always a great experience, and we had a blast as always.

This was the first best picture showcase I attended. Hopefully it will not be my last. It was fun attending with my three friends and others who enjoy watching movies. I must say that I had already seen "Up" and "An Education" but they certainly were enjoyable the second time around. This day gave me an opportunity to watch three other films that were Oscar nominated and left only Inglourious Basterds as unseen. Let's do it again next year!!

First timers....excellent!!!! Loved it so much were going to get a group together for next year. What a great way to enjoy the day doing what you love. I also enjoyed not watching the intro 5 different times....I feel the theatre should run a special like this where we could pay an upfront cost just walk into five movies for the day at random.Would love it!!!!!!

I LOVE AMC for doing this each year. Seeing fabulous films back to back makes you truly appreciate not only the films themselves, but the experience of seeing these movies in the theater on the big screen. I recommended it to everyone I knew this year, and will do so every year. I admit that many of these films I would've waited to watch on cable, and I am so glad that I didn't. You bond with the people around you, you discuss the films on the break, you have enough time to get up a stretch and eat and take a walk in between... I would love if they expanded the program to once a month -- four or five selected films grouped together for all-day viewing. Thank you AMC!

This was the first showcase I attended, but it sure won't be the last. What a great idea for those of who love movies and are fans of the Oscars. It is a long day, but worth it. I liked the order and variety in the films shown. I didn't like seeing the same ads over and over. Either change ads or don't show them.

my friend and i enjoyed this all day showing. my only suggestion would be to the newspaper listings. it would have been helpful to have a brief description. i ignored it the first week and then when it was repeated again, i went online to see what it was. if i had known from the newspaper what it was, we probably would have gone both weekends. others who don't use the internet to see movie listings, might have gone to their local theaters and taken advantage of this unique opportunity. our theater did not have many attendees. i believe this was due to lack of advertising.

I've been attending the Best Picture Showcase since it was initiated 4 years ago. This year, I chose to attend just the second Saturday. While I still think this is a great deal and a very fun day, the fact that 10 movies were nominated made for a much lower quality experience. In past years, I've been blown away by the 5 Best Picture nominees; this year, while the movies were good, only 1 or 2 were what I would consider Best Picture material.

This was my first time at the AMC Best Picture Showcase, and it was excellent! Loved the opportunity to see all of the nominated films at once with people who loved movies as much as we. My only criticism would be opportunities to get real food. When a series of films start at 10:45am, by the time the meal break rolled around at 5pm, we were a) a bit nauseous from all the popcorn and b) more than a bit peckish.
As for the films I saw - good films, but not all "Best Picture" quality, in my opinion. Of the five that we saw this day, only "The Hurt Locker" was of that quality. Up, A Serious Man, An Education and District 9 - while all good films, just weren't, in my opinion, Best Pictures.

My wife and I attended the second weekend of the two-weekend Best Picture Showcase and we will be attending every year as long as it is available. Being able to see the films all in a row and in the same room with other people of like mind was a very good experience. Having the badge and being able to go out to get dinner and back also helped. Free popcorn and drink refills all day - combined with the low price for the whole day - really made this a bargin for any 5 movies - not to mention Oscar Nominated ones. A perfect experience for movie buffs. RazorOne
